March 7, 20224 yr So apparently there’s around 10 bids, most of which are from the US and Roman is looking at which bid will offer us as much security/keep us elite as possible before agreeing to sell. Also saw a couple of rumours that Roman could still be in charge and it’s all a smokescreen. I find that hard go believe. The war isn’t going away anytime soon and there will be more pressure of the government to sanction so I doubt that happens.

March 7, 20224 yr Everything is so fluid, and pieces are moving every day. I wouldn't be surprised to hear soon that RA has accepted a bid, but on the contrary, I could see it taking months. Especially if the reports are true that he doesn't want to just sell to the highest bidder, but wants the club to go to the right owner, even if it means he receives less money. Like I said, I don't know how truthful that statement is, but if it is true then I can't see the sale going quickly. Of course, if RA is truly feeling these sanctions, then he might be forced into accepting a bid sooner than the wants to. We just don't know what the future holds.

Unless they are Musk and Bezos wealthy and actually care to make the club competitive I don't not expect us to remain a top tier club. Our costs are just too high. Now of we can shifts on dead weight like Barkley, Drinkwater, Baka, Werner, Lukaku etc and keep a far more responsible wage bill while making use of our best academy players then we could remain competitive, but I don't not see new owners throwing cash away on huge signings, out of control wages and manager compo the way Roman has.

March 7, 20224 yr Saudi group apparently interested. Be difficult to see them pass the fit and proper owners test given the politics flying around.

March 7, 20224 yr Good move from the mods to move this thread, it's only a matter of time when Roman isn't going to be the owner and the fans should keep this in-house while the whole saga is going on.

Yeah that would be kinda ironically funny given what a few of us have said about the toons owners... 11 minutes ago, Gol15 said: Good move from the mods to move this thread, it's only a matter of time when Roman isn't going to be the owner and the fans should keep this in-house while the whole saga is going on. Good chance the one who buys the club is not one showboating for the media about it. Anyone contacting that Raine bank group have to sign no disclosures.

March 7, 20224 yr Bill is being passed on the 14th March so any new sanctions could start on the 15th - the day the bids are due to close.

What that means I dont know. Roman does not own the freehold to the Bridge so they cannot sell that, unless they stripped that right for CPO as well, which maybe in a time of war they can who knows. Sell of players and any other assets the club has? Maybe we will be FC Kings road after all...

We are not at war, if no money goes to Roman and Roman is not paying funds to CFC it can just carry on business as usual.
