Sky confirmed "several bids" of around 3bill received by Roman already. 

My only hope is that we get a  new owner(s) that care about football and the club and do as good an ownership job as Abramovitch has done over the past 19 years. If its going to be done lets hope for a good result. There is a tendency to look back in life and feel sad and sentimental but its the next goal and not the last one that matters.

I agree with the sky sports article that selling is easy on paper but completing the sale and abramovitch getting the money will be difficult. It may well be that the trust or something continues to manage the club, abramovitch continues as the legal owner but a separate financial agreement offshore means that financial ownership and underlying management go to the new buyers. Or something like that.

FWIW i definitely think there is other bids, and identity wil be known soon; and i think they may even beat Wyss/Boehly to the punch, but they'll need to be quick as those 2 are out in front.  Be interesting to see if the other 2 or 3 with Boehly and Wyss are also multi billionaires....

It's like these massive super yachts, they lose money, a £300m yacht has running costs of 10% or £30m per year, they don't care.

Got a bad feeling about the swiss/American bid. 

Swiss guy is 86, and Boehly already has his hands full with dodgers and lakers, how much interest is he really going to have in seeing Chelsea compete?

Really struggling with all this. I dont see a particularly bright future ahead. Most likely drop out of the top echelon over next 5 years. 

None of these prospective buyers seem like they will want to or be able to compete with City and United financially, and when you throw in Newcastle, and a Liverpool which seems to found a successful sustainable operating system, it really is going to be tough going to stay in the Champions League, let alone win it again.

How would a buyer go about making money on Chelsea?

I dont think they can do what the Glazer's have done, because we dont bring in enough revenue. 

We generally operate at a loss as it is, they would have to cut the wage bill significantly whilst maintaining a top 4 level side, if we drop further down the table, they miss out on Champions League revenue, and the asset they bought for £2B depreciates. 

Ive seen a lot of people fear this, but im more fearful that someone will buy it with good intentions, but fall short on ambition, or make horrible decisions at board level. 

Im not sure Chelsea with its price tag and revenue is appealing offer for anyone trying to make money.

We’re never going to get an owner as good as Roman but we’re still incredibly lucky to have witnessed all of the success past two decades. Whatever happens in the future, Chelsea will always be here, wether they’re fighting for a trophy or promotion.

Don't worry it's going to take a blue ribbon billionaire, to buy a blue ribbon club, in a blue ribbon location. Mike Ashley could't afford the parking.

City dont care about any losses.

Liverpool generally break even.

United earn ridiculous amounts of money through revenue, so can spend more, although their owners use chunks of revenue to pay off the debt they took out to finance the club, whilst also collecting dividends. United is a plc, so im not sure how differently things are for them being on the stock market.

The only reason we kept up financially is vecause Roman balances the books. Maybe if we scouted better he wouldnt have to.

We have a problem arising this summer at centre back potentially losing 3 quality players for free, so i guess we will find out pretty quickly whether the new owners are willing to fund a signing or 2 to try and give Tuchel a squad to compete. 

So... we really can be a in big big trouble...

I think you could put all our losses down over the years to maybe 10-12 bad signings (Roman trying to play fantasy football), costing around 1/2 billion, players most of us fans could tell would be a failure.

Yeah i didnt even figure in salary cost just transfer cost, i bet with salary costs its 1 billion. i think we can say for sure we need to spend wisely from now on.

We can but hope we see some wiser investment, maybe we even get a top level director of football or maybe Cech is promoted to that role.
