March 3, 20224 yr According to former Spanish intelligence, Roman was responsible for Putin’s personal finances. Though there’s probably zero proof, the mere fact that he emerged wealthy from the post Soviet Union forces him to leave under the current situation, & quite frankly I’m relieved. There’s no other call to make for the sake of the club.

In other news this one sounds more promising the Swiss money making bid: "Perhaps a bit more promising is a mention in the Telegraph that Loutfy Mansour, son of Mohamed Mansour, is potentially also looking to put together a bid package. The Mansours own Mansour Group, a massive Egyptian (well, global) conglomerate with $6b in annual revenues, and Loutfy is the head of its investment arm, Man Capital. More pertinently, he’s reportedly also a season ticket-holder at Stamford Bridge, and has made at least one foray into sports already by acquiring Right To Dream last year and setting up Man Sports. In addition to various grassroots footballing activities and initiatives, Right To Dream are also the owners of Danish SuperLiga club FC Nordsjælland (where Michael Essien is currently part of the coaching staff incidentally)." The Mansour Group doesn't have as big of a net worth to simply pay 3billion like it's nothing in order to be the new owners so if they buy I doubt we would see any more big transfers in the next few years, sorry future Lukakus but your time is up.

He is very much a fan of Galactico type ownership. Their wage bill is 193m a yr, how much do MLB players make, thats more than Utd and just below Barca After that, ive no idea The Los Angeles Dodgers payroll in 2021 was $210M and their estimated payroll for this season - before the strike/lockout - was $231.7M or £173m so it's not like he is frugal with money as MLB doesn't have a minimum salary, but they do have a luxury tax which was set at $210M for 2021 according to the googles

Same as if Roman stays this summer. We will need to start balancing the books so you may well see a Kante, a James, a Havertz, a Mount sold because of our wage bull and not bring able to shift the likes of Lukaku or Werner. To add to that sky are reporting we won't be keeping Toni, AC or Dave and will save on the way bill starting with them going. Edited March 3, 20224 yr by axman2526

Roman will sell as soon as the war is over, no chance of him staying and rebuilding the team anymore, it's done now.

We've had ups and downs for the decades i've been following them but before it was like 'Ah well we are Chelsea' and just got on with it. This is numbingly different. Thanks Roman. It is one thing to rightly acknowledge the contributions made by Roman Abramovich to Chelsea football. But he is no "victim." RA owes his fortune to an incredibly dangerous regime, and he could never have done so without the support for, and the support of, Tsar Putin. As Chelsea fans, we can "mourn" his departure, but we need to look past our own narrow perspective, and focus on the larger, and vastly more important issue: Russia must pay for the destruction of Ukraine. Dead children move me a great deal more than the ouster of a Russian multi-billionaire.
March 3, 20224 yr Abramovich has already received several serious bids circa £3billion for the Stamford Bridge club. Full story on @pasport wire. Abramovich hopes to invest circa £2billion in charitable foundation aiding victims of Russia's war in Ukraine #Chelsea #CFC Interesting that’s there’s rumours of “several” bids. Wonder who they are…

March 3, 20224 yr Its hard to get used to the prospect of any other owners to be honest. I'm not anti-American owners, but Roman was a great owner. Yes, he and the board could have done better, but I'm very wary. On the other hand, we've only won the league twice in the last decade, which really is underwhelming considering Roman's ambition. This must improve if we want to be a serious domestic club again.

Thru have found their backers and are in talks with Roman. Marina may yet stay, one group, possibly this one, wants her too.

Agnelli family from Juventus doesn't come close, Glazer family from Man United doesn't come close, Kroenke doesn't come close... People like Moratti/Berlusconi could match up but they have been old news for many years now. The person is what matters, not where he's from! For example AS Roma has a fairly new American owner and they are looking to be more ambitions than before, they got Jose to place some foundations for the future and they didn't hesitate to sign Tammy Abraham and they managed to get Pedro too and also they signed a talented left-back from Uruguay Viña as well, that guy won Copa Libertadores twice with Palmeiras and we all saw how close our match against them was.

March 3, 20224 yr I can't see anyone spending £3 billion for us ... half that maybe ... but £3 billion seems way OTT to me, given the perceived issues with the stadium/ground capacity, the sky high wage bill as a percentage of turnover, and the ongoing annual losses requiring significant bale outs from Roman.
