Matic is 31 (32 next month) and nowhere near the player Kante is. Definitely a good move selling him, we haven't missed him in the 3 years since he left. He wouldn't strengthen our team right now at all.

Yes but we didnt get much out of his replacement Bakayoko...ManU fans say he'll get a new contract.

The fact we f**ked up replacing him in the worst possible way but never at any point really missed him says everything.

It could happen.

Cut the price in half, and send a Chelsea player over to Germany.

Send Christensen over, he had a couple of decent seasons in Germany.

This is happening isn’t it? I’m not really seeing any serious interest from other clubs, we seem to be the front runners. Crazy.

What's even crazier is you could have this as your attack next season.

Looking back at it, is this sudden Kante sitting DM with Ross and Mason ahead thing preparation for Havertz coming? with obviously Kai taking Ross's spot. Would also explain why Mount has been a bit more deeper in general play since the restart aswell.

Although I'm a card carrying regista fanboy I can get behind reverting back to sitting DM if (as @RIP Mourinho has said) an appropriate player is signed, (Kante even in his peak wouldn't have worked there) and they still have a decent level of passing minimum.

If we go with that front 4 we would have to go with Kante & Kova screening the defense, I think with the industry and mobility of those 2 they can break down any counter attacks alongside having the ability to carry the ball when being pressed.

------------------------------Werner-------------------------------

Pulisic -----------------------Havertz-----------------------Ziyech

----------------Kante-----------------------Kova-------------------

Azpi----------------Zouma--------Tomori------------------Reece

----------------------------Kepa------------------------------------

Azpi provides us with solidity at Left Back & hopefully Reece with 1 season under his belt will be further down in his development & hopefully improves his form. In addition, with 5 subs likely to be continued for next season we have options of Mount, RLC, Tammy, Giroud, Hudson-Odoi & Billy on the bench. That is taking into account the possibility of Jorginho, Barkley & Willian possibly leaving.

I dont think we will be able make a realistic challenge for the title but this team would certainly close the gap on the 2 leading the pack.

Great lineup. But I would sell Kante and Zouma (and a few others to raise funds) and sign Milikovic-Savc to partner with Kovacic and Skriniar to partner with Tomori

No chance we’re signing Werner, Ziyech, Havertz, Savic and Skriniar in one window 😂

Possibly not all in 1 window, but we are pretty strongly linked with Savic right now, so its likely he could be our next target after Havertz is confirmed.

Though it all comes down to how many players we sell and how much funds we raise as well, but I expect next 1-2 windows to be busy as well, but not as busy as this one.

Also you laugh, but we have already signed 2, with Havertz looking highly likely to join as well, and we still have a few months left open of the window!

I reckon realistically we could add Chillwell & Declan Rice to the back line however if I had a choice of any additions which would result in the biggest impact that would be Onana for Kepa.

Not interested in Chillwell and Rice personally.

Onana as well is not even that good, not sure why people are hyping him up all of a sudden? He plays in a farmers league for the best team, his job is made much easier than it is

@UnexpectedGuest Welcome and thank you for taking the time to come and write to us here.

How sure are you that Kai's price didn't get lower due to the pandemic and the fact that your team didn't qualify for the Champions League next season?

Pretty sure. After our cup final last saturday, Rudi Völler, who´s our managing director, said again that there won´t be a "corona discount". A few weeks ago, it was reported in Germany that we rejected a 70m bid from Real Madrid and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said before the cup final on live television that Bayern won´t go for Havertz this summer because they don´t have the funds after the Sané deal. Those things for me at least indicate that we pretty much insist on a certain price and that price would be 90m pounds.

As far as the Champions League goes, well it certainly hasn´t improved our chances of keeping Kai for 1 more season. But I doubt that it will have much impact on the prize tag. Our bosses spoke with him last summer and Kai knows that he can leave if a fee is agreed that meets our expectations. That is pretty much confirmed since 12 months. Of course our bosses want the highest fee possible and I wouldn´t exclude the possibility completely that we might sell him for a few millions less, but at this point, I doubt it. Völler recently said "We have an agreement. I personally hope that he stays one more year. If it fits, he could also leave this summer." I am not too familiar with Chelseas financial situation atm, but I guess after your transfer ban you have a few resources. Let´s see.

Oh, and we might still qualify for Champions League if we win the Europe League, but as I said, I doubt it will have impact on the prize tag.

He'd make us lethal. No question about it.

Good luck stopping Pulisic, Werner, Ziyech and Havertz all coming at you at once. On really has the potential to be one of the best attacks in the world.

Any kind of half decent defence and a keeper and we should be challenging for all the trophies.

That team certainly is a title challenging side. If we sign Havertz and a top class defender (A LB or CB) then the least I’d expect is a title challenge. That’s a top team.

Sadly I dont think any team with Kepa in goal (In current form) would be able to make any sort of title challenge

We find ourselves in a terrible position when it comes to our Goalkeeping options purely down to the money which has been invested in Kepa, I hope the person who made the call for signing Kepa got a right bollocking as I am sure Leicester wouldve taken 70+m for Schmeichel.

I've stated those names as they are the ones we are seriously being linked with and I can see us signing 2 of those 3 (Declan & Chilwell)

The only change I would make here is Mount for Kova. You know Lampard loves Mount in his 11, and for good reasons.

I think he was Sarri's pick as he wanted him for Napoli too.

I like the lineup but it's too "streaky" for me, we'll concede as many as we score imho. Personally I'd prefer to see a more contained 4-3-3 with Havertz as a second striker (in a role similar to Firmino at Liverpool);

                                        Kepa/Caballero
Azpi/James - Zouma/Christensen - Rice/Lovren - Chilwell/Azpi
              Kovacic/Kante - Kante/Rice - Mount/RLC
        Willian/Ziyech - Havertz/Abraham - Werner/Pulisic

Kepa reminds me of Karius.

Liverpool did everything well and had the trophy in hand, but was let down big time by silly mistakes from their keeper.

The right keeper can help bring you trophies, the wrong one can help take it away.
