It’s been a long time since we played Leeds Leeds Leeds in a league game ,it must have been back in both our 

division 2 days ? 
 

For sure the atmosphere at SB for the chelsea v Leeds game will be very flat for obvious reasons ,but the Leeds v chelsea game will be very 

very different since Leeds still have that mindset within themselves . Saying that will away fans be allowed at next seasons games and if not that 

will help today’s cfc away following and serious stress .

ps it’s in Brentfords own hands now to go automatic promotion into the prem

Our rivalry has been in hibernation for 16 years, but I'm eager for this fixture next season.

There's many memorable moments against them which have been mentioned already, but Gudjohnsen's bicycle kick against them in 2003 is still legendary.

 

Always remember when ever we were getting knocked out cup, we'd start singing "there's only 3 weeks to Leeds" or how ever many weeks there were to the fixture, as a child in the 70''s one of the  first set of words I was taught was 'Dirty Leeds' my family always regarded Leeds as enemy no 1, just hope when we play them fans are allowed back in stadiums.

When the fixtures are out those two games will be first I look for.

Remember him cheering when they scored and at the final whistle.

I was googling Bamfordinho just now to see if he's still at Leeds (yes). Would you believe he's already almost 27!

I’ve grown up with only history of the rivalry, they were going through their implosion when I started to become more aware of what was going on in the world 

That being said my mates (The Curse) old man is a Leeds fan and as I was raised correctly he’s always been affectionately been known as Leeds Scum. 

In the early 70's they were arguably the biggest club in the country quite a few kids I knew supported them. They also got a lot of fans because of their Admiral kit  a couple of mates of mine brothers both Chelsea fans their mum bought the Leeds away kit for them simply because it looked nice !. I remember watching their 7-0 against Southampton where they took the piss that's when they were at their peak.

Personally I've always hated them anyone who's been there will tell you that, three mile walk from the station to the ground in the 80's. They smashed the scoreboard up in 84 when we beat them 5-0 which was a bad mistake cause the Met unleashed the SPG on them and those coppers didn't fcuk about and gave Leeds an awful battering it was the time of the miners strike as well and the Met were no friends of Yorkshiremen at the time.

We also beat them in 89 which was nothing compared to 84 as we should never have been relegated in the first place and wouldn't have been if Bates had sacked Hollins earlier.

Yep, had a few mates in my class in the '70's who were Leeds fans. Looking back I recall lots of Chelsea, few Spuds and Arsenal, and the rest were Liverpool and Leeds all due to the success of those two at the time and the fact they were on MOTD more often that not.

That 5-0 at The Bridge in '84, remains one of my all-time favourite football experiences. A wonderous day - never to be forgotten.

Looking forward to renewing the rivalry and the Lamps - Bielsa will help fuel it little bit more! 

Been from donny a town full of donny whites I have had more runs ins with this lot than soft mick back in the days .

some of the donny whites have been very close friends while others would never give it a rest .

i allways got the impression that the HATE between the two sets of fans was more HATE coming from the Leeds lot .previously mentioned on here chelsea fans would start to sing 3 weeks Leeds 3 weeks to Leeds before a game > I would hear ‘ go get yer fathers gun and shoot the chelsea scum ‘ song week in week out when round town on a fri/ sat night > this was not for my purpose as I could hear it while walking out of one pub into the next pub which be rammed with donny whites .

donnywhites > in my book a few c**ts amongst them but some good eggs aswell ,but for sure quite a good firm of lads on their own without been mixed in with the rest of Yorkshire whites .

said it on here before ,the day it was Leeds v chelsea division two and I was on donny station at about 09:30 ish waiting for the London KX to Leeds inter city 125 service  > with not a donny white in sight ,but there was about 50 + chelsea on the platform waiting for the same train > f**k knows where that lot came from ? 
 

Train pulls in and it’s facking rammed ,it was that full chelsea lads were laid up in the luggage racks above you .i got sat on a table with my back to the window > never been on a train so packed .

Train is pulling into Wakefield westgate and as it rounds the bend ,you can see 3 lads track side what we all thought lobbing bricks to our train ,it turned out to be petrol bombs as they smashed into flames against the window that I was sat against > thank god those train were deisel and not petrol > by time train pulled into dirty Leeds the flames had blown out but side of carriage was black bright .

this was the game where I think there was close to 7000 chelsea at the game as we had part of the stand that ran along the side of the pitch and the away end section if memory is correct .> can’t recall the score > just the police escort back to Leeds station .

 

also recall a division two game when cfc was at wolves and I got on the train to take me to brum and it was rammed with Leeds service crew as they was playing at derby county > I was with sone good donnywhites so no stress > this wa the game when Leeds smashed up the Osman road stand in a division two game ,for chelsea to play there in the facup a couple of weeks later to undo the repair work derby had done on the Osman road stand by smashing it up just like Leeds ( I blame Kevin wilson for that ) 

no stress at all with any of the donnywhites today as we have put all that behind us ,but the donny white’s was really pissed off with me been Chelsea when a Leeds main face AP was meeting up with chelsea lads after been at England games with the chelsea lot .

AP hands and punch was very very quick ,I recall him holding his pint in his right hand dropping it ti then rabbit punch whoever stood at the bar ,then catching the pint on its way down .

i went on holiday with some donnywhites yonks back and I stitched them up good and proper since I bought 5 ICF chelsea t shirts ,and when I got them all lashed up one night I got a photo of them all pissed as newts all deeming the chelsea ICF t shirts > pure class .

Being old i am in the “ we all f**k8ng hate leeds” camp .....I grew in a family where my mum came from just outside wakefield so all her side were dirty Leeds ,we lived down south so my trips to the norf were always fun,CFC pin badge to the fore when it was time to meet the family 
i had a funeral up in leeds crem just before Christmas last ,down near elland road ,seemed strange

Re the petrol bomb  train i was on that ,as were ,as you say hundreds of typical Chelsea ie all young lads ,majority casuals and the majority game ....the petrol bomber i believed committed suicide some time later ,the things you remember 

anyway your right We had the whole side ,which was terraced and Were in the seats above as well,i cant remember any trouble outside to be fair ...funnily enough i was at Derby game when the seats got wrecked in the last minutes ,to my shame the papers had a picture of us behind the goal and im there with a deer stalker hat on,oh dear !

I cant say im happy to have them back ,horrible club still in my eyes, a tiny bit pleased for my mum but that is it 

re the miners they did get a battering by old bill,i remember at the time arguing with my mates as they loved it but they didn’t really see,regards less of the politics, no pits meant the death of many communities ....

Always remember Leeds at Brum where the wall collapsed and the kiddy sadly died...That looked like carnage on TV

The three Leeds lads that lobbed petrol bombs to our train ran straight into a local pub after throwing the petrol bombs .The landlord overheard them talking about it in his pub so I guess gobbing off about it > he called the police > the 3 lads got nicked and a crown court date followed > all three got sent down and one of the Leeds lads hung him sen in Preston prison .
 

recall sat in gate 13 at one chelsea v Leeds game ,and I clocked about 20 donnywhites who were all stood on away end as close to gate 13 part as possible > they soon clocked me and started shouting my name and pointing to us and waving as if I was a Leeds lad > quite a few chelsea round me could not work out what was going off and for my own interest I felt I better stand up and let all know that Leeds lot was trying to dig us out .

quite hairy for me at the time since I was from up north etc etc with a broad Yorkshire dialect ,but it all went ok .

F1905 > I get asked quite a lot why I followed chelsea been from donny 

I put it down to the old northstand and the white strip down the shorts > I only ever saw pictures of all things chelsea when I was in primary school from shoot magazine or football sticker cards .ctc was nor on the tv much up our way and I was only cfc at school .

when I started to go down to SB to division two games we was sh*te tbh ,but I noticed that on the 08:30 Train to London KX would have cfc fans on it fron Scotland ,newcastle region ,donny region ,retford ,pboro . When I say region said train station would pull in cfc from surrounding towns to get them down to London KX .

likes of west ham ,Spurs ,Arsenal were in division one back then ,and I never noticed fans from those clubs at all .when the prem kicked in then you saw fans from Arsenal ,Spurs on the trains heading diwn and back from the smoke on saturdays .

i have meet cfc fans from newcastle ,Bradford,Leeds,hull,grimsby,pboro,retford ,darlington  all on that east coast line .

I was at both games the Leeds boys behind the goal never seen so many Patrick jackets in one place. It was 83 when we had all the side and there was no trouble outside because they kept us in for so long and far as I remember you didn't go past anywhere fans could congregate just a long boring walk down the motorway.

Fair play to you ,it always amazes me wherever and whenever I have travelled with CFC I've met fans from all of the UK.. I worked in Bradford for a while and never met any CFC , plenty of mancs though,sadly

I've got a west ham mate ,lives down south but born and raised in Warrington , always respected him for that,he used to talk about the rugby league tear ups , whole new world for me until I worked in Bradford and saw the bulls 

Living in the south game day was me travelling into Waterloo and it always amazed me the amount of CFC on the trains from Bournemouth and areas like that... Waterloo on a Saturday night was lively,I guess your train journey back up to Donny was interesting on occasions

My mate used to go out with a bird from Donny (Armthorpe I think it's called) we went up a few times in the mid 90's last time I was there was 2000 is the Formula 1 motel still there and a pretty rough boozer called the Cheshire Cheese I think.

My worst train journey back up north was after the cfc v mboro play off game and defeat .kings X was rammed with boro which I type of managed to just blend in since I was on me own .

once on the train it was impossible to blend in as it was full of boro all happy as pigs in muck and I was on me own and I guess the 

Only person not drinking . It was not too long before a load of boro had figured me out since I was wearing the gear etc etc .

they basically bullied me all the way back to retford the stop before donny ,I guess the amount of ale they had necked helped me as they had got board with me ,a few of had fell asleep.one pillock has took his adidas trainers off and placed them on the table and fell asleep ,I had his trainers away as I got off at donny ,and then banged like f**k on the window to wake the. smoggy div up with his trainers in me hand as train was pulling out > his and their looks was a small victory .

Cheshire cheese has now closed down sorry to say fella ,think the Formula 1 motel is still there ,armthorpe a former pit village is still there but minus the pit .

I got lucky with this one, I'd been going  through on of my fallow periods, in terms of games that I actually went to. A lovely lady that I worked with at the time had a ST, but due to domestic tribulations was unable to get to many games, and I went to most of the games for the remainder of the season, including Franco's last game and goal. The lucky bit was the first time I used M's ST, it was this Leeds game and it was the start of regular match going again until 2011 or so, although I had to start shelling out for myself for the next season, as for M, she never went short of a free lift to games for as long as I knew her.
