July 17, 20215 yr Seems like this guy’s been flying under the radar. Last season all the attention was on Gilmour but Tuchel specifically mentioned at one stage how well Anjorin was training. He’s 19 now. I can’t see that another season simply training with Chelsea is much use to anyone. is he going to be good enough to play the backup midfielder thus season, get Billy’s minutes and maybe a few more?
July 17, 20215 yr Contract till 2025, needs 2 seasons loan of regular football. One season in the championship, & if he does well a PL loan
August 5, 20214 yr Author Thought he looked excellent for about 5 minutes. Tuchel said he had covid and still felling after effects otherwise would have had more preseason minutes. Maybe Vittesse or somewhere for a year but he looks like a real prospect.
August 11, 20214 yr No talk on him but he looked strong and hungry .. hope he goes to a decent place this season.
August 27, 20214 yr Rumours that he might move to Lokomotiv Moscow although it's not clear whether it would be on loan or permanent transfer. Sold with a buy back clause might be a good idea. It's hard to see how he's going to break through at Chelsea given our current depth of attacking options.
August 27, 20214 yr Chelsea's Faustino Anjorin to Lokomotiv Moscow could be done soon. The London club will get around €10m, the player has been offered a 5-year contract and about €2m/year. Ralf Rangnick is behind the deal. The German has been Loko's head of development department since July.

August 27, 20214 yr A buy- back clause is merely price insurance. If Anjorin fulfils his potential and Chelsea maintains a good relationship with him, there's no reason why Chelsea would be his first choice of destinations in a future transfer.
January 27, 20224 yr Loan cut short. He’s now in talks with Southampton apparently for a permanent move. Have we become the Saints feeder club? Scousers will have a good team in 5 years time.

We have unfortunately got to the position Barca did in peak La Masia days when they lost Thiago, Cesc etc. The academy are simply producing more player's than we can realistically accommodate, especially in midfield.

Exactly this! it’s great having a great academy but we have great prospects rolling out every year now. The clubs focus now needs to be working out a process to decide which ones to keep vs cash in on. They’re gonna get that wrong a lot too because it’s a difficult thing to do.

Wouldn't call it unfortunate. Quite the opposite really provided we pick the best ones to stay.

For sure but we will inevitably see some of them at competitive rivals at some point (Lamptey is likely winding up at United or Arsenal before long) which will never be nice regardless of the context and also we will have to listen to this tedious narrative that we've let KDB/Salah situations happen again when in reality on this occasion our hands are tied.

Lamptey seems very much a Pep style signing to me.

February 1, 20224 yr Hopefully this loan kick starts his career, as he's reached age 20 and the sum total of his senior career experience to date is 829 minutes (= 9 full games basically) Have a horrible feeling he might simply be the latest version of Sinclair/Stoch/Kakuta/Musonda/Piazon.

Apparently Ralkf Rangnick leaving for United was a part of the reason behind the loan cancelation too. When he joined Lokomotiv there was an option to buy at the end of the season too so it's quite a 180 on their part.
