March 2, 20224 yr Thanks guys. Most amusing reading this thread. I enjoyed the game. Other than Sarr, and to a far lesser extent CHO actually thought most of the team did ok. I am much more of a Werner fan than most on here. Very sad news about Abramovitch selling Chelsea. He wanted to leave it to his son. I greatly admire him all things considered. I will never understand how Russia is mostly ruled by people like Putin. Democracy may look weak and flabby much of the time but goodness me it looks attractive compared to the alternatives.

March 3, 20224 yr Good to see the players show some bottle…could have easily lost given the start they made and all the distractions of last few days. Ruben and Saul stood out for me.

One of the best ever football stories Mick Harford, Howard Gayle, Mark Dennis and Noel Blake, Tony Coton where in a pub when they played for Birmingham some hooligans came in gave it the big un and ended up battered and asking for the landlord to call the police 🤣 Great story. Never heard that. I remember that goal from big Mick. He had a decent little spell for us that season. Pretty sure he scored at Anfield too. Coincidentally he was on the Luton bench tonight. I think he is the assistant manager there.

March 3, 20224 yr Face it, their first goal was a fluke. Reece Burke’s goal was seriously Gilzean-esque. He simply isn’t that good. Going ahead so soon gee’d them up, and put us on the back foot. Sarr’s error gifted them their second - in his defence he’s only 23, has played a lot better, and may come good yet. Or not, as the case may be. Otherwise, for much of the game we were as dominant as expected, even with the seriously risky scratch side that started the game. Shocked to see Lukaku and Werner both scoring In the same match. Cue cliche about confidence booster etc etc etc. Biggest plus of the night was Reece James. Saul was my man of the match but how much have we missed Reece James?

March 3, 20224 yr Author It's sad for sure like a death, but we need remember, we have the upheaval of a new owner, but today millions have the upheaval of leaving their war torn home/friends/family/country just looking for peace.
March 3, 20224 yr Author I didnt watch the BBC studio coverage, why would i listen to football players talk about politics ?
March 3, 20224 yr Luton's ground gave me an old school vibe. Very relieved we got through as I was worried all the distractions surrounding the club might be too much for us.

We know what is more important mate, we know as much as we love Chelsea and they are like family too us if it was to all go away tomorrow we would still be blessed with lives outside of Football. We also know the suffering of the people of the Ukraine is far beyond our suffering. That does not mean we don't have a right to feel or be in pain. My wife has MS, she suffers on a daily basis. Sometimes I get sick, like anyone else, I got hit hard with covid in January and I apologized to her for becoming sick and not being much of a help with our toddler or around home. I feel I don't have a right to be sick or complain about pain because it is always worse for her. But as she said to me then and has said to me before, I still have a right to get sick, to get headaches, to be in pain and it is not my fault. It is not our fault political jack offs and rival fans are using this as an excuse to attack Roman, the club and are making out that every Chelsea fan is as bad as a Russian missile launcher. It is not our fault Russia invaded yet we are blamed and Roman is being forced out. We have a right to our pain, even though it is nothing compared to the people of the Ukraine it does not make it irrelevant.
