Raheem Sterling signs for Chelsea

He is a very frustrating player. Trouble is, Mudryk is even worse - and in this system, I'm not sure we have any other options out there. Maybe Jackson, but then we have Guiu playing CF who, whilst his movement and hold up play looks decent, doesn't look likely to get any goals.

Sorry but with the state of our wingers there's absolutely no reason not to play Tyrique George.

Jackson or George* can take the left and both are better than sterling and Mudryk imho but apparently not a lot of tactics work has been done yet. It may take maresca the rest of preseason at Cobham to either get sterling/mudryk sorted or realise jackson/George* are better on the left.

I do disagree that guiu won't get us goals, he's very raw but he's also not getting the service during preseason. Hopefully Cole will change that but I can imagine he'll also miss quite a fair few in his first season until he gets a better understanding of his team mates and vice versa, but he will get goals if we give him a chance. I like his tenacity, enthusiasm and energy and like Jackson his head doesn't go down.

* I wouldn't say George is 100% better than sterling/mudryk just yet. He looks it though from the very short cameos of preseason. Like guiu though, he's young, raw and I expect a lot of mistakes till he gets upto speed. But at least he doesn't get the ball taken off him by his own shadow like sterling. Lol

Sterling really needs a kick up the arse and get his head straight.

Madueke's attitude is starting to get on my nerves tbh. I don't mind ego but he's pushing it too much and is also in need of a slap down to earth imho.

So long as he's the only Chelsea player that can put the pig skin in the onion sack he can do what he wants for me

Early nomination for metaphor of the season. Let's see how it holds up. Though around here metaphors are as rare as positivity.

What did Madueke do to hurt you hahaha

Nothing. Don't think I was being unfair there, it's an accurate description.

The problem with Jackson on the left is it leaves us with Nkunku upfront which isn't ideal.

George is already better than Sterling and Mudryk in the sense that he can actually dribble past someone, can shoot, doesn't lose the ball doing stupid things and has good awareness of when to pass, type of pass, etc. Whether this results in goals and assists or us winning games is another question entirely but it's better than relying Sterling/Mudyrk.

Oh no, nkunku has shown how "good" he is up top. It's "use only in emergency" type thing. Guiu up top if Jackson on the left. Nkunku as an 8.

George is still very young and inexperienced. He will make mistakes and fk ups which is understandable. We need to take that into account when choosing him over sterling/mudryk. I just want to see more of him first before I label him better. Although he's not far off atm.

There's no possible way you can say this so confidently with his grand total of zero minutes in adult football.

Stick Sterling in U18 or PL2 and he'd be getting a double hat trick every game.

I'm all for giving TG minutes but this is OTT.

A mix of hyperbole and real dismay at how bad our left wing is, I do honestly believe he wouldn't look out of place though.

Any other team would have seen LW has been a problem area for a while and done something about it. Sadly our SD's gave one winger a lifetime contract and large transfer fee that's none-recoupable and the other £325k a week.

Gonna be a long season unless someone can adapt.

Full disclosure: for 2 years I've been wondering what this SD stands for. I initially confused it for STD, but now I'm on Stupid Directors.

Close enough...actually, its better than sports directors.

Finding a metaphor around here is like searching for a needle in a haystack.

Boom-tish! I hope you're here all week.

He has 2 years left on his 300k wage, he is not going anywhere.

Even if by some miracle an agreement is made it will most likely be a loan to buy which takes up another foreign spot.

Doubt Juve could afford his wages.

3 years left. He signed a 5 year deal in Clearlake first summer, 2022.

He's been whining about not getting in the England squad. Playing a bits and pieces role here won't help, whereas playing every match for Juve in the CL and scoring bucket loads in Serie A may well do. Also Juve can afford big wages.

That's what I'm clinging onto anyway.

Let go. Juve lost a sh*tload last season because they were banned from the CL.

Beeb reporting it too...

Someone tell them we'd prefer to sell to them instead of PL before they realise no one is even remotely thinking of taking sterling off us. Lol

Juventus are examining the feasibility of signing England winger Raheem Sterling from Chelsea but realise they will face competition from other Premier League clubs for the 29-year-old. (Gianluca di Marzio - in Italian)
