He might be fine with that. His England career looks over, he wants to live in London, and is he is paid 325k a week to sit on the bench and train is not a bad life eh?

I'd be happy for Raheem to never play for us again. Dude should take the first flight out to Saudi or MLS in the summer... although his wages might be a problem.

Good goal. Nice to see him delivering something as an impact sub, rather than being a passenger as a starter. Still left a lot to be desired defensively though.

Without his performances at the start of the season we wouldn't be anywhere near competing for european football and with this goal if we do qualify he deserves some credit.

I think the reported £300k+ per week he is being paid is more than enough credit!

As @justsays, I don't mind him as an impact sub, but I don't want to see him in the starting 11.

 

It shocks me to read that people would start Mudryk over Sterling.

Do we watch the same games? Mudryk is the definition of a passenger.

Agreed. And the general debate really drives home why left wing (along with centre half) has to be a focus for us if we can afford to buy anyone this summer.

I'd say a centre forward is our most pressing issue followed by a left back Loz.

Centre forward certainly is. 

Whilst getting a replacement left back would be ideal  if we are limited in terms of what we can spend I think we may need to go another season with our current options.

On paper Sterling is definitely the better player.

But I can see the argument why, Mudryk is a player who needs to develop, rotting on the bench is doing us no favours. It decreases his resale value and we need to at least justify what we've paid so we're praying and hoping something clicks with him. 

Sterling has likely or is exiting his prime and is on ridiculous wages, that's a player we want to offload if we can. And lets be honest, there's been plenty of times this season where Sterling looks like he's not even that bothered, to his laziness and smiling when things going wrong. Yeah I can totally see why people would prefer us playing Mudryk instead, and I say that as someone who doesn't rate Mudryk highly.

Yeah I get your point that he's a future investment and Sterling may not be here but we have 2 big games coming up and I would even pick Nkunku over Mudryk just to secure qualification and we can worry about Mudryk next season. I probably come across as a defender of Sterling but Im not and I'd happily see him sold in the summer but there's just a lot of double standards going on and short memories.

Let's not forget there's been a good number of times this season where other players have had tantrums over penalties and have been lazy. It's not just Sterling and I get that he's on a lot of money and he's experienced. The team is in form now and its easy to praise but a lot of that is down to the manager as for giving certain players a kick up the arse to put more a shift in.

I wouldn't. It's such a glaring issue right now. Neither Chilwell or Cucurella are good enough.

Yeah I don't necessarily disagree with any of that tbh.

However, if you go check the minutes player, Sterling's stats aren't as flattering as you think. Madueke and Mudryk are doing better numbers on average. 

But for these final two games, I could understand if Pochettino goes with Sterling.
