I will be fuming if Caicedo ends up at Liverpool. This should never have got to this stage. Would be more embarrassing than the Mudryk saga. Arsenal did not need him. We need Caicedo after letting so many CM go. Should never have got to this stage. Embarrassing. I will be fuming with this, especially considering his age also.

However, he is definitely a huge step up from all of our summer signings - most of who will go to France on loan. And come on, Adams from Leeds is the type of signing I expect Sheffield Utd to make.

Lavia is even a big step below imo.

Like it or not, we are now shopping like a team in mid table and not one looking to win big top honours.

Liverpool have now completely transformed their midfield with two top draw players, behind 5 attackers that are a cut above ours as well. Regardless of price , we look miles off them, city and arsenal to me.

Sorry stats there is no if imo anymore. This one is over. We lost.

Worst for me is the months we wasted on this, only to offer 100mill Brighton wanted and it not be enough at the death. We come out looking so stupid from this.

Shame. We took too long and reality is 10M was never gonna break us. We could have had the midfield locked down for years to come. 

Overall a pretty bad week. We had some great momentum, but injuries and lack of transfer movement in key areas makes for a challenging weekend ahead.

Many players have 1 level at the top. If the quality is there, the quality is there. Grealish only had let's face it one season playing a top level before City spanked out the £100m for him and we have bought established players at top level who have flopped. Works both ways.

Seems like since Carragher berated the club for their pursuit of Lavia and not pursuing Caicedo, they got a wake up call.

This is a horrific failure of our most important target. All Poch wanted was a f**king quality midfield. If he isn’t frustrated now I bet he’s fuming in how we handled our time.

I am on the same page as you mate this time.

If our position remaind "no we will not pay more than 80mill and that is that" and then Liverpool came in and dumped 100mill and we walked away then fair enough.

But to take 3 months and then table 100mill when it is no longer good enough we look like complete mugs.

If this is what happened we have to save face and fire Winstanley.

Oh I would have to give it to Liverpool of they get this all signed up and start him at the Bridge on Sunday that would be a huge boon for them.

And another reason Winstanley has to be fired.

We lack any real quality in midfield outside Enzo. God forbid he gets injured. Maybe the young ones will step up, but it is naive to go into a PL season with the midfield we have. I thought they’d have addressed it by now, but this is a poor week imo 

For all anyone knows we could match the bid, crazy transfer window this.
