August 11, 20232 yr makes no sense to have 200M worth of pivot playing midfielders, Enzo 105M , Caicedo another over 100M . We saw Enzo last season, We need to focus on getting a goal scorer Edited August 11, 20232 yr by KokeFran96

That would be a 20M increase on current bid without add ons - they didn’t become billionaires by decisions like that. We had our chance. 10M too late, and that is as costly 10M as we’ll see for some time (consider how much we just spent on young players that will never see a Chelsea shirt).

August 11, 20232 yr These big money signings never seem to work out for us anyway. Could be a blessing in disguise.

August 11, 20232 yr I hope we keep Santos. I won't mind seeing him in the pivot with Enzo. We will be fine .

August 11, 20232 yr Author Moving away from our failure on this. Is rather telling that a player, for months we were told, only wanted Chelsea, heart set on Chelsea, can have a change of heart in hours and be off to Liverpool.
August 11, 20232 yr Author Some are saying Brighton won't accept an offer from us matching Liverpools. They gave their word that the highest bidder wins and the deadline passed with Liverpool on top. So unless Caicedo really does want us and turns them down is certainly over.
August 11, 20232 yr We should go all in to get Kudus now before Brighton get the money from Liverpool.
August 11, 20232 yr Lets say we had bid 110 and had it accepted would people on here really be happy? There were a lot on here who didn't even want us to go higher than 80m. 110m would have likely meant that we would be unable to sign anybody else this window. I am still hoping we can bring some cover in for striker and attacking mid.

What’s to stop him from saying he wants to join Chelsea? I mean, does he have no say in the matter? Just because Brighton accepted a higher bid, why is he obliged to go to Liverpool?

Just because Brighton accepted a higher bid, why is he obliged to go to Liverpool? Exactly my point. He very likely talked to Pochettino, our higher ups, knows the "Chelsea project". If he dumps thar idea in w4 hours how can anything think he really wanted to be here?
