It was well documented they was prepared to pay big money to buy Levi Colwill, Klopp even spoke to him apparently, so anyone thinking Liverpool have only got around £45m in their coffers could be in for a big shock in the next 24 hours. True but I doubt they will pay 150m for both though
August 10, 20232 yr Our next bid is likely to be £90 + £10m according to Matt Law. Whilst Klopp is hoping for the chance to talk to Caicedo to convince him to join Liverpool instead. Edited August 10, 20232 yr by 2211
August 10, 20232 yr Got a really bad feeling about this now tbh. Shouldve had this tied up ages ago while other clubs were sleeping. Looks like it will be down to Caicedo to pick. Question is can Klopp convince him to change his mind?

IMO Caicedo is streets ahead of Lavia. I'm not so sure on streets ahead. He certainly looked better in a better structure and a better team that as a group played better, whilst Southampton as a group slowly imploded. With what I believe Poch and his team are capable of, I think Lavia could easily have a similar break out season for us. If we missed out on Caicedo I'd be disappointed as I think he is a natural successor to Kante. But if by the weekend we've got Adams and Lavia sewn up along with Kudus, covering the loss of Nkunku, I'd still be made up with that.

Fair enough, I just feel if he ends up at Liverpool some people, me included, will be gutted when we see him dominate matches with McAlister at Liverpool for the next 10 years on MOTD. I rate him that highly, and like you I think he is a natural successor to Kante, and they don't come around too often. I'd even stick my neck out and say because he is better in the final 3rd than Kante ever was he has the potential to be just as valuable to us as Kante was. Edited August 10, 20232 yr by 2211

Well we can counter that with "we're the ones who were working to get you all along, they've tried for Lavia all summer and just now find out they need you all of a sudden".
August 10, 20232 yr This thread really heated up, both exciting and daunting. I think we've let this drag on too long and Liverpool will do to us what we did to Arsenal with Mudryk.
August 10, 20232 yr £100M, no way worth it. I’ve maintained weeks ago after it went over £70 that we should have walked away. He’s an ordinary player and I’d be happy enough to see Liverpool spunk that sort of money on him.

August 10, 20232 yr if he ends up at Liverpool i hope he tears his ACL in both legs after one training session Edited August 10, 20232 yr by azpi28
August 10, 20232 yr So after several weeks of “negotiations” it looks like we’ll end up paying near on £100m. Got to hand it to our crack negotiating team. They played a blinder.

August 10, 20232 yr Just need to be sure someone tells him he’ll have to live in Liverpool. That should make his mind up.

August 10, 20232 yr Liverpool usually get their business done early, by now Klopp figured out his starting 11 already, he's not going to make a serious bid for a 100M starter. If it was a serious bid, it would be close to 100M, of course it wasn't and now we are in a fake bidding war with another party aside from Brighton. Just match the 50M demand for Levia, and pass the ball back to Liverpool to play.
