Moises Caicedo to Chelsea! "Official"

Featured Replies

At the end of the day instead of buying Chelsea for 4 billion plus and then giving Brighton 10s of millions for their assets why didn't Clearlake & Co just takeover Brighton ?  Probably could of had it for a billion which is close to the dosh they've spunked in a scatter gun recruitment drive over 3 windows.

I know no owner can own 2 EPL clubs but just making a point re farkin Brighton.

🚨 𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆: Liverpool have decided to bid for Moisés Caicedo! Chelsea still on it 🧨🇪🇨

◉ Brighton decided to sell Caicedo to highest bidder — and made it clear in order to get it done this week.

◉ Liverpool made contact with Brighton in the morning and confirmed that they will bid for Moisés Caicedo.

◉ Chelsea remain on it after long talks, feeling that they are favourites — hoping to present Moisés on Sunday.

◉ This happens after Chelsea £48m bid for Roméo Lavia has been rejected by Southampton in the morning.

@fabrizo

Pretty nervous about this now tbh. I get the impression we bid for Lavia as we got wind of Liverpool's interest for Caicedo.

Maybe some posturing on our part.

Now it seems Liverpool are going to bid for Caicedo, and let's be honest, they must be willing to get close to Brightons valuation, and Caicedo must have given them the thumbs up too.

Could this be all from Brightons end to get us to pay up? I dont think so tbh.

Hopefully our ego means we wont be outbid by them, but they are under pressure from their fans too.

Yeah, I'm really starting to believe the next 48 hours is crucial for us as I think Brighton will happily sell to the highest bidder if Liverpool officially start bidding and turn it into a bidding war.

Brighton won't do us any favours at all I feel.

We've got to make any progress we've made personally with him in the last 2 months count and once and for all get the deal done this weekend.

The media will also brief whatever Liverpool want them to put out there so if we are complacent then they could easily blindside us with a better more favorable bid for Brighton.

Liverpool have the money if they think the player is good enough and they have also cut their wage bill and will continue to do so with Thiago.

Just gotta hope our persistence with him has shown him we want him more than Liverpool.

Apparently it's going to be done tonight either way.

With Liverpool involved we are inevitably going to end up paying whatever Brighton asked for in the 1st place. Really no excuse to not win the race, since we have been throwing money about on players that might not even play for us.

Make or break for the transfer window this.

we are in a bidding war with nobody.

Exactly. No other manager or club in the league think it's a fair deal but we as Chelsea do.

I can understand why some managers might even consider him at that price  in a results driven business to avoid the chop but fans should have the long term stability and holistic view of what it does to their club and not base their interest and desires on fantasy football or manager careers on Fifa.

SMH.

Wonder how many bids from mystery clubs there will be in this process, to drive the price up

I think the price has always been £100 million and has been for ages.

If we pay it, we get him.

If Scousers pay it, they get him.

Brighton might want to keep us sweet as they will have Mitoma lined up for a January £100 million sale for us.

That recent signing from Watford (?)

It was  a record signing for Brighton at £30 million beating the previous £20 odd million record.

And their strategy seems to work very well for them. But something I think they might struggle?

Who knows?

Some how Brighton was able to bend us over again and again and again with ghosts bidders!!

We are not in a situation where clubs will overvalue any player we go for so they can bend us over like Brighton!!
