It does seem like this is the club showing Enzo there's no acceptable interest and to shut up his agent so Alonso can concentrate on integrating him into the team because he's part of his plans going forward, rather than wanting him out? Or just posturing from the club. Either way Enzo and Xabi knowing if he's staying or not at this point needs to be resolved soon and better for the both of them.

If they do stump up the money hopefully the day the transfer is confirmed they're slapped with them with 115 charges and relegate them to league one. They could buy Gusto too if they're so inclined.

We need to focus on the season, so this sh*t simply needs to be squared away right now. I look at the CM market, and even though I have my issues with Enzo, the price that they have for him is spot on. Pay it now, or f**k off. It's that simple.

All quite out there. No one saying any talks going on between us and City. They are saying City are talking to Enzo. Perhaps reassuring him they will move later? Or asking him to do an Isak?

We gotta take a stand on this or the rumours will continue.

Totally agree with the approach in that Alonso wants a settled period without the Enzo noise polluting the season prep and days between now and end of window (and probably beyond) however not sure that this "deadline" is going to deter city from making further enquires, or whether we have any viable means of stopping them?

They may just say well the transfer windows still open so we can make an approach whenever we want during that time and if you want to reject that approach then that's your prerogative.

Will be interesting to see what happens after 5 o'clock tonight (does Enzo turn into a pumpkin?) will the club make a further statement reinforcing that the matter is now finished and will entertain no further discussions re: Enzo and therefore try and shape it that any further approaches to Enzo/Agent are deemed "illegal approaches" ?

Like you say nothing stopping his prick agent contacting City or vice verse and reigniting the whole debacle.

End of the day City have the funds lined up to make this deal happen, if they really want to.

They played games with the Maresca situation. Approaching him last August and then again in the November/December period.

Now they are playing games with Enzo it seems. Talking to him via Pastore but not to us? To what end?

Alonso needs this matter settled so if they don't make an offer quickly we need a statement saying basically he is not for sale at any price this season.

He's staying.

They won't be making a move for Enzo Unless Rodri is sold, which is far from certain. If he is they don't care what we say about deadlines they would likely still make an offer.

Not sure where this deadline has come from tbh but as has been said it’s kind of pointless.

The club may announce Enzo is no longer for sale and is staying but that will probably require a new contract which I’d rather not give him.

There is only one deadline.
