True, but Potter didn't get a pre season and was only able to sign players in January, and the performances towards the end were starting to improve a bit

 

But yeah you're right about the goalscoring, I forgot how bad that was.

About goals this season it's little bit illusion - we had really great luck against Spurs and City. 8 goals from these two games.

Without the luck, i think no more that 2-3 from them.

So Poch has been given a vote of confidence. 

I'd say that means he will be given the cup final and a decision can be taken after that. 

Will be interesting to see how we do. I think we all expect to lose the 4 games before the final.

People have very short memories Scott, hence why so many want Mourinho back and forget about all the bull sh*t that happened in his final season and his shocking tenures that followed. 

The reality is the standards have just massively dropped since Tuchel and we've not been anywhere close to that level since. Tuchel at his worst was still a top 4 finish bare minimum, meanwhile we would be celebrating a top 6 finish with Potter or Pochettino.

I don't get how or why Potter had the harder job, Potter still had many of the key players that won a Champions League and finished top 4 under Tuchel. 

Pochettino has a squad full of kids that have never played together before. I don't even think it's debatable who has the harder job. 

I’m still of the belief if Potter had a summer like Poch had he would have done better. He was put into an impossible situation when Tuchel was sacked.

I think if Tuchel had stayed we'd have finished top 6 at worst that season, we had 10 points from 6 games under him after being robbed against Tottenham.

At the final whistle of his last game in charge, Chilly and Reece were playing CB, one of Sterling or Puli (can't remember which) was playing WB, and Kante was playing winger. Shambles.

Lot of noise now coming out about Poch's training sessions and the intensity of sessions the day before matchday and high effort sessions players returning from injury immediately jump into. Ex-players and journalists speaking out. 

Can't say it doesn't fit the narrative of our injuries and fitness. The fact Poch claims our players are tired with zero European football explains a lot. 

Makes sense why he loves Gallagher too.

Journalist Julien Laruens and AlexGoldberg on twitter. Normally I wouldn't pay any attention to twitter ITKs but Alex Goldberg seems to have some connections at the club given he was spot on about the Mount situation before the Athletic aired it publicly, 

Julien Laurens, since last summer, has been criticizing Poch's training/fitness sessions based on his convo's with ex-Spurs/PSG players. 

Just watched Poch's presser today. If he wasn't straight up lying ("Chilwell didn't say they wanted it more") he was excusing. Even pre-excused himself by bringing up that Villa have had 24 hours more rest before tomorrow while remaining silent on the fact that Wolves bloody crushed us at the Bridge with 24 hours less than us to recover.

I'm sorry but what a twat. If a loss tomorrow gets rid of him i'll take that loss on the chin, bloody hell.

If the Tuchel team was available to Poch or Potter we would have been in a better position.

But Poch and Potter are managing a team of young strangers , many with no PL experience at all .

Mind you I wasn't unhappy with a few that we sold, but some (most?) of our new players don't look all that decent.
