February 6, 20242 yr That Tuchel preseason was the worst preseason in history. This sh*t was coming. He probably could've coached his way to a 7th-6th place finish but it was becoming evident that Tuchel is incredibly difficult to work with. Already talking about being replaced at Bayern at the end of the season.

I thought we played well under Tuchel for the first 12 months of his tenure. After that it was a bit difficult to watch at times but he still got us results. Mourinho's 2nd tenure was far more boring, it was just defend defend pass to Hazard.

Gallagher said exactly the same when we lost under Potter at Brighton on his first game back there as Chelsea manager.. Lampard said it when we lost at Everton . I'm sure Tuchel said something similar when we lost at Southampton the season he got sacked. I f**king hate this sh*t that they don't like training, the manager, the tactics etc etc Put a shift in, show desire, passion, courage etc. while you're on the pitch , you mollycoddled f**kers

He could've done with a good DOF behind him because his coaching was excellent. But the criticism aimed at him is so over the top on this forum. A good section of the fanbase never gave him a chance because he took over from Lamps. But TT will probably be the last elite manager we'll have for a long time with the way it's looking. It could be years before we're looking at a top 4 challenge again, it's even possible we'll never reach those heights again.

We genuinely looked like the best team in the world when we won the Champions League in 2022. Beat Real Madrid, beat Liverpool, beat Atletico, beat Manchester City three times in a row and capped it off with a CL title. I don't think we'll ever get back to that level but glad I got to experience Chelsea winning the Champions League on merit once. Edited February 6, 20242 yr by OriginalS
February 6, 20242 yr Of course we should have stuck with Tuchel. The start of season was horrendous, getting smashed by Leeds sticks out but with everything that’s gone on behind the scene with the takeover, it’s not surprising we had a rough start. We should have stuck by him since he delivered us the Champions league when no one expected it. I wonder where we would be now if he was still here. Probably not top 4 but definitely better than where we’re at now, we’d look like a team at the very least.

Normally I wouldn't pay any attention to twitter ITKs but Alex Goldberg seems to have some connections at the club given he was spot on about the Mount situation before the Athletic aired it publicly, Julien Laurens, since last summer, has been criticizing Poch's training/fitness sessions based on his convo's with ex-Spurs/PSG players. Don't know either of them, but reading down the comments on Goldberg's twitter feeds, he doesn't exactly come across as a credible source. Do you really think it's likely that Pochettino and his team, with all their experience and history of high PL finishes for f**king Spurs of all teams, would conduct training how this guy is describing ? I mean surely they would have worked out by now how to prepare a team in optimal condition for a match ? Or even from his own experience as a player ? It all sounds very far fetched to me. Last week I thought we were all supposed to be upset that the players were all casual and smiles in training, and now it's the complete reverse ? It's all clickbait ... and too many people are falling for it. I imagine all the stories today about Enzo wanting out are all bollocks too ! Bit of a rant - sorry :-)

Got the job, took training the same day and then led a Lampard team that was conceding two or three goals a game out against Wolves and stopped the rot immediately, then immediately changed us totally to ultimately win us the CL.
February 6, 20242 yr One could only appreciate what Tuchel has has achieved ( in the little time he had), after 3 successors all failed miserably. He's probably a difficult one to work with, lots of successful managers and leaders are. We had dramas when Jose and Conte in charge too. Start of the last season wasn't great, but if not for his 10 points out of first 6 games we'd probably be dragged into relegation fight. He's not coming back and we all know it, but let's not try to drag him into this sh1t mess the new owners got the club it. They probably regretted later on, could have saved easily 30-40M in the firing and hiring of managers, and we would have finished higher on the table. WTF cares if some players weren't happy with Tuchel, just ask how many players weren't happy with Potter, or with Poch

February 7, 20242 yr Yes Didier. Finally someone talked some sense on age and expectations. He also said there is no time in football which for me is weird. Why isn't there? Who invented that? Outside pressure is all that it is. If you have set your goals and keep hold of them why listen to anyone? The club is the club and no one should be able to pressure someone out of their job. What was apparent in Roman's era is we had all the resources but no long term vision on the success apart from Cobham. We just fired the manager when we had a stretch of 5 games that went a bit bad and then relied on the new manager bounce. How sustainable can that be? With our resources we could have won much more. City is the prime example of that. If the owners don't want to repeat everything Roman did, this is the perfect place to start. Let Pochettino coach the boys with time. Let the fans cry, let the pundits remember Roman era, let the journalists write what they want. Just don't buckle under it and give peace to the guys to improve. That would be something new (for Chelsea at least) and could give us much more satisfaction down the line.

Tuchel had been our leader and figurehead through the most trying of times, as well as being wildly successful on the pitch. The Americans had fortune give them a natural leader of the pack. Situation had aligned perfectly to give us the mentality that is sometimes needed to get a team through because we all know this football and competing at the top thing consistently is not just about how good a manager and his players are. There is the mentality and the luck aspect and though they don't play a big role but in the case of mentality it is vital to get it right because it determines how the players mentally react to situations encountered on the pitch as well. The club saw him as our General and apart from a few of the fanbase that in my opinion don't understand the psychological side of things, he was the best man at that time for us. Just led the club through a tumultuous time with nothing but positivity and showed he was going to fight for his club come rain or shine. Sacking him meant they lost the opportunity to blood the new team they were thinking of creating with that mentality. Though he may not be the best coach he could go head to head on his day and come out tops because he could "out-tactic" the best in the game. We were where we should be, in the top 4. I said a few seasons ago until Pep leaves City will keep winning except the odd title or cup they lose and that is just the truth because he is the best at this and has the support and resources at his disposal to back his plans season after season. It says a lot that no matter how good Klopp has been good, points haul in several seasons that would have made pool maybe have 2 or 3 more titles than they have had during his tenure, they have fallen short. You don't treat people like that and let's face it they did TT dirty. They maybe deserve what they have gotten but we as a fanbase feel the pain as well.

People get at Tuchel a lot for his signings, but a lot of his decisions came down to him basically just telling people to find him a certain type of player and sign them. He didn't go and watch these players himself and go "that's the guy I want, bring him in". Isn't one of the reasons why he didn't get along with the new owners because he never wanted to be as involved with all of that stuff? Which is odd if true because both Potter and Pochettino had no say on who we signed. We do things backwards. I feel like it's the owners that tell the scouts what to look for, not what the manager needs. The complete opposite to what the likes of Liverpool and City are doing. The scouts are signing players that fit the identity of the manager. This is one of the reasons why our signings were so hit and miss with Abramovich. We were so successful because we had an eye for top talent that could be moulded into a great team, but a lot of the players just didn't work out because they never fit the system the current manager was going for. We're doing that right now, but the vital difference is that we're not signing top talent, we're signing potential, and potential in football ends up with a lot more misses than hits.

February 7, 20242 yr RECAP Mauricio was never our ideal choice as a manager of Chelsea football club. He was a bit “Spursy” after all. He had previously managed that “steaming pile of Tottenham”. We were not ecstatic with his arrival, BUT we needed a new manager and some stability. We had four managers last season – yes FOUR, everybody forgets poor old Bruno. 4 managers in one season was a disaster. Total fcucking disaster. We brought in a lot of young players and it was sort of agreed that perhaps Mauricio could manage and develop a bunch of children. Not all managers can work well with the kids. It was considered that Mauricio would be alright doing this. Lots of discipline and exercise and fitness training in pre-season. [We all know that…] The problem is our owners Clearlake and their acquisition policy. We bought all these young promising players on long-term contracts. On paper, that is sound ‘investing’ but in reality it just doesn’t work in the world of international Sawker. We are stuck. Clearlake are not going anywhere soon. Roman is not coming back. Those days have gone [and it wasn’t that long ago when we were Champions of the World]. We have scored goals this season. We didn’t do that at all last year. It is in fact a very different scenario this season. There are players that imho we should have kept. We did not. We let those players go and now they have gone. We currently have the squad that we have. A squad filled with erratic talent and young players still lurning their trade. We just have to enjoy watching youngsters test themselves against grown up football teams. Maybe in the summer we can sign some leaders and grown up footballers? Poch should stay imho as there is nothing – there is no one out there who can save these young players and turn them into instant soccer stars. There is no savior who can turn this round at this point under these circumstances. Just more of the same with the hope that we can play more like we did when we drew 4-4 with Citeh – which was still a lot of youthful chaos, but it was an entertaining experience for the fan. Yes the players will get better, but is Poch doing that? I think we have plenty of things in our football that can go under the umbrella of identity. All that started from day one under Poch. What we don't have is application of that identity on a daily basis which is partly down to injuries, players being inexperienced and most of all the short time period everything has happened. I am not saying Pochettino has been perfect or anything like that. I think he's improved the side and our football in many ways. Changing a manager during this or even next season is just dumb. I think the way Pochettino goes out is because he falls out with the club or important players. Not sure Pochettino really is that type of person to begin with.
