Nicolas Jackson - striker

A poor touch?? The keeper was closing him down, the defender wasn't far off him. The ball was coming down from a great, he kept onside whilst the ball was played as well.

Jackson did everything he could to turn that high ball into a half chance on goal. Cherry picking exact moments doesn't make your point any less absurd.

So - an open goal is now being framed by you as 'a half chance'? FFS....absolute joker.

He managed to f**k up an open goal, because he chose to shoot in the only place the defender had a chance of getting it. He had loads of options of where to finish (shown in red below). Roll it in the corner, smash it in the roof of the net, go top bins, check back and wrong foot the defender and keeper and put it back across goal.....

....but no.... he took ages to shoot, and then chose the only option that gave the defender a chance  of getting it - tapping it mildly into the centre of the goal directly to where the defender had moved to.

He is rubbish - and your moving of the goalposts (half chance!) doesnt change that.... The c**t missed an open goal.

Glad to see the vile post left by @bluetrooperhas been deleted.  Thanks Mod....

For those that missed it, he (rather oddly) linked to an NHS article about children coming out as Gay or LGBTIQ, and then called me racist.... All because I dislike a player he rates. Charming.

Why is it absurd exactly?

He went wide, he then spent far too long getting a shot of to allow a defender time to cover. A top class striker should score in that position.

So top class strikers have never missed a half chance like that either?....... chinny chinny reckon.

Top class strikers can of course miss easy chances. But it is usually the exception rather than the rule.  Unlike with the fraud Wacko - who mostly misses

Jim...

Im not sorry your small mind cant handle the banter. 😉 its rather obvious you have a Jackson fetish as it occupies all your posts.

the sooner you out yourself to your family the sooner we can all move on from your Jackson fetish.

Top class strikers don't keep doing it, that's the point.

Some people need to get a grip, anyone throwing racism claims about is a moron.

I think the only person who needs to get a grip mate is the man child who literally falls over himself to rubbish a Chelsea player at any opportunity around the clock 24/7, 365 days a year. Do you not find that really strange? Fans who defend him are called all sorts by said man child and as I've said previously, its really weird, irrational and obsessive/ Fetish kink-like behaviour. Interestingly, the said man child wouldnt say any of the things he says here to Jackson the player in person: 1) Because he's a coward or 2) a mid age man with an embarrassing obsession? It also comes across as unintelligent, donkey like, and plain sad.

Anyhow. I'll let you defend a grown man with an obsession / fetish for being abusive. Have a lovely day.

For the record, Jackson is a decent player. Very good player. Personally, IF I were coach I might start with Nkunku in a few games. I would even like to bring another striker into the mix, into the squad to challenge for the spot. I think we should be on the look out for another striker always. I am glad we didn't sign a striker over the summer as I was really not thrilled with the players who were talked about.

Jackson has tremendous ability and he has great charachter and commitment. He needs to improve on his offsides and decision making. I believe he can do that.

Literally none of that is worse than claiming someone is racist now is it, a frankly disgusting thing to do.

Quite funny you being upset at my abuse, while simultaneously calling someone a donkey, a coward, unintelligent, man-child, fetishists etc...

Make up sh*t all you want - but that’s not true.

You gave me a fictitious scenario in which my son wanted to go and ask for the donkeys autograph - and in that scenario I said I would allow him to, as my love for my son outweighs my disdain of wacko.

Anyway - keep defending wacko all you like; and I will keep calling him out for his misses - but for the sake of the forum, you need to keep it on topic, and stop the political LGBTIQ stuff and racism allegations. There is no place for that kind of sh*t on this forum.

Oh…. It’s my fault for not understanding that talk about teenagers coming out as LGBTIQ  or allegations of racism was “banter”

Keep it up and you will probably be on for a banning….

They do, they all do. So you are telling me Drogba, Costa, JFH and more have never done that, at all......?

Even Haaland, the current best striker in the world, does that. But hey, let's just pretend it's only Jackson just because 'reasons'........

Watching the open goal chance back on MOTD. He does well to control the ball and get it away from Verbruggen, but he then looks behind him (presumably checking for oncoming defenders) rather than immediately lashing it towards goal. That was the pause which allowed Webster to get to the line to block the shot.

I feel like it's a cliché to talk about killer instinct, but it's hard to imagine Vardy or Costa (or even Madueke or Palmer for that matter) being quite as cautious. Can that sort of instinct be taught?

We need to keep showing Jackson the love.  Maybe he could have pulled the trigger on the shot earlier, etc but it’s a lovely control on the Palmer pass and he rounded the keeper and the defender did make a good play.

The rest of the game Jackson was fantastic though. It was his runs and the work he was doing that was making the channels so open.

But there are situations where he needs to think less and just “Do”.  The Chelsea fanbase can help with that though. As the support and love for him grows, the “what happens if I miss?” goes away and the sky is the limit for Nico.

I can easily see him being a 20 goal, 15 assist guy.

He does it sometimes though, West Ham being the latest example. I dont know if these things can be taught, but if he can get rid of that extra touch and that little hesitation that sometimes holds him back, I truly believe he’ll be rated among the top 3-5 strikers in the world

“Killer instinct” no. Helping a player who is hesitating fractions of a second here and there? Yes, absolutely. We are talking about a guy who had received massive amounts of abuse from his own fanbase. And when we are playing away and he’s just mad and looking to take it out on opponents … no issues.

But he REALLY wants to do everything right for the home fans. And if a player is putting too much on their shoulders or the hesitation is coming from overthinking, that has a definite treatment in sports psychology.
