He is handed goals on a plate... Constantly. 

Also never there when the ball goes across the penalty area, yes, one enthusiastic youth player won't do any worse. 

He hardly touches the ball a lot of the games, we really do forget he is playing

Sound. 

So since a GK and any youth player can't do any worse, I'm expecting us to still finish Top 4 and create as many chances as we do considering we've been in the Top 4 the majority of the season, and created chances at a canter with Jackson leading the line.

Top 4 is minimum requirement and we have to win 50% of our remaining games or questions will be raised at certain members of this thread.

Well if he can't, that would suggest that Maresca is not the right man for the job - which many of us suspected in the first place.

I think we've seen enough these past 3 years to say no one is the right man for the job. 

While his contributions divide opinion and his form has been poor, this will have significant impact.  Squad is too lean and not enough output from those that are available.  We could switch to a 4-3-3 to help - oh wait, we don't have enough midfielders either.  What a circus. 

This is bad news for us.

Only positive spin I can make is that it should be a sink or swim moment for Maresca. With no recognised striker available (Nkunku is a 10) he will need to adapt now. Our form has been poor for 2+ months now, he needs to find a way to grind out results else we'll be in free-fall til Nico is fit again.

With Maresca failing to do the necessary and drop him - this twist of fate has given us a sluggers chance of making top 4 - something we have not looked like doing with wacko in the team over the past 2 months

We will be in free fall until Nico comes back?  Then we will be ok again, or as crap as we have been these last two months (with Nico playing)

I thought it was going to be Maresca making these excuses, but fans have got in ahead of him this time.

The next half dozen games will either prove Jackson is more valuable than most people gave him credit for, or we don't really need him. Either way, there are positives in it 😅 If I was Maresca, I would work on Nkunku, get his mind back on the job and start delivering.
