As others have said, I feel guilty about being glad he's gone as he's done nothing wrong as a person, he's just been in too prominent of a position for his abilities.

Probably more a case of Xabi saying to the board "we should have comfortably beaten Fulham, I can't go through that another 37 times".

More like gets to be a part of the CL squad. Don't think he will get any minutes in the CL, nor Serie A. Butez is their main man. Sanchez went from being 3rd option here to being 2nd option there. Guess if we'd have pulled the trigger on him earlier, we'd have found a club to pay for a transfer. But now it was too late and probably we would have had to settle for a lower fee out of desperation. Hence the board left it for next summer when they can get a proper fee. There will be plenty of clubs looking for a GK.
