HES CLEARLY NOT FIT

WHEN HE GOT THE BALL OFF OF WALKER ON THE HALFWAY LINE, HE COULDNT SPRINT AWAY FROM A 36 YEAR OLD AND WALKER CAUGHT HIM UP SO PALMER TOOK THE SHOT EARLY

HAVING SAID THAT NO WAY SHOULD PALMER HAVE COME OFF BEFORE THE COACH SINGER, HE ONCE AGAIN STROLLED AROUND THE PITCH DOING NOTHING

If he's not fit why should he stay on for the full 90 minutes?

Skied a tap in against Leeds which would’ve won the game and was the most guilty in being unable to control a ball in the final third against Burnley.

Love Palmer but he’s been woeful in front of goal if it’s not a penalty.

I hope he's not checked out mentally with us. Wouldnt blame him.

I'd also be interested in the opinion of others on here about Cole and Pedro Neto.

Have Heard it said on a couple of fan channels that thy rarely even pass to each other, only doing so as a last resort.

CP seems quite humble and chilled out whilst he has all the god given talent in the world.

Neto seems like a right egomaniac with the ability of prime Luke Chadwick.

As an outsider I’d guess Neto feels delusionally threatened by Palmer whereas Palmer must be beyond frustrated that his ability and vision is being squandered by absolute bottom feeders like Neto.

Ahhh, long distance amateur psychology, lovely.

If this is true, it kind of shows them both up to be numpties who put their own egos ahead of the team. Which explains a lot about this club over the past 3 years.

If I was ordered to shoot one in the morning, It would be Neto. Easy decision.

However, I can see both players departing in the summer.

I don't think that is the case.

I think the only time I have seen it happened here was Mudryk 2 seasons ago.

Of course it isnt bloody true, anyone who believes this will believe literally anything. Its utter nonsense.

To read about in an autobiography a few years from now. TBH, nothing would surprise me anymore with things around this club, probably see Palmer lay on a neto hatrick against Arsenal to dispel the idea.

I don't think its true, i just don't think Neto has the IQ to get his head up and see the pass. Head down and run in a straight line until he's tackled is his modus operandi.

Cole is a team player and passes to anyone if they're in a good position. Perhaps questions should be asked if Neto is making the right run if he's not receiving the ball?

Whatever the reason for it Cole just is not at it right now. Sinking to the level of the majority of our players.

Hard to imagine he will be in the England squad this summer. His form has been poor most of the season. Maybe he still isn't right after the injury/

If he cannot get in to some sort of form then he woul be a liability to the national side.

Unlike us they have other options.

While true, no one in either the AM or RW role is pulling up trees. Saka is being carried by Arsenal rather than vice-versa, Foden has been very good with limited actual return, Rogers' bright start to the season has fizzled out, and Palmer, Bellingham and Gibbs-White have been underwhelming. If you're picking entirely on potential then weirdly Palmer is still the best choice at RW and even #10, he's still the likeliest of them to hit 15 league goals/assists, and none of the others have even half the circumstances that Palmer is dealing with.

Of course, it is classic England to finally have a basketload of generational AMs only to have them all fall out of form at the exact same time, though a big part of it is the overall shift away from attacking football to set-piece play.

Numbers are scary to be honest; I am not convinced he will hit 15 league goals + assists, even though he has 8 goals + 1 assist. He is presently a 1 in 3 goal/assist contributor. He has scored 5 league goals in the second half of the season, 4 of which have been pens. Of his 8 league goals, 5 are pens. Since 1 Jan 2025; he has scored 11 league goals in and has 3 assists in 34 league games, 6 of which are pens.

This is why when I see fans saying he will leave in the summer, i just chuckle. There won’t be a queue of clubs lining up for his services, and any SD will struggle to justify a £150m outlay and huge wages on him with those numbers. I don’t he is being helped by whatever the club is trying to do with Enzo, and they need to make up their minds. He played on the LW v Arsenal I reckon with the thinking that he will punish them when Timber goes forward, but he doesn’t have the pace to get in behind and needs a “10” that can pick a pass which Enzo isn’t.

As for this notion that he is England’s best “10” and RW, he has been average whenever he has started for England. His best performances are off the bench. I don’t think Tuchel will be starting a player who looks out of sorts in the summer.

They're not great numbers, but my point is that all the English 10/RW hybrids are putting up more or less the same with the others also racking up assists on corners lol

Tuchel will likely need to choose on more than stats come June.

Not fully fit. He looked to be off the pace after he went down yesterday and took a while to get back into the game.

Just needs to clear up his injury if it is being managed.

George Benson on his YouTube channel has said that our win rate with Cole in the side is only 24%. As well as a few other unflattering stats.

Really shows how large a cliff his form has fallen off this season.

George Benson? Is that just before he broke into a rendition of "Give me the Night.......................?"

The Arsenal game was probably his worst game in a blue shirt; kept under/ over hitting the simplest of passes and couldn’t seem to breeze past defenders. Obviously sticking him on the LW was silly and unhelpful, but I still think it is either him or Enzo in that band of 3. If he can’t crack it in the middle of the park where he was bought for at £105m, then though sit him on the bench. Palmer will be benefit from having players running into space, not one that wants every pass square.
