Cole Palmer signs for Chelsea!

If he really is suffering from something, just do the surgery and take the season off.

England won't win anything with him if his form is like this anyway

I don't give a sh*t anymore to be honest. I don't care if it's the injury or his own ego, his performances have helped sabotage our season. If he goes and gets surgery after the world cup (if he even gets picked that is) then that won't sit right with me. I get it, players want to play for their country, of course they do, but as a fan of Chelsea football club, I don't give a sh*t. There is no reason why both can't be prioritised from my point of view.

Also, whilst I'm in the mood to have a dig at him, trademarking his celebration with his silly little logo is f**king cringe.

His head has gone. Was an incident late in yesterdays game, gave the ball, didnt get it back, Pedro on the right wing I think it was.. thought the pichside mics picked up on his shouting, that or it was the crowd.

Will be amazed if he's here next season, Palmer is a world class talent playing for a B team.

If he sticks with us, we should call him Chelsea Le Tissier.

I think I'd be in a complete fug myself if I'd been the outstanding player for a year and a half, and then had to watch on in disbelief as the owners brought in coaches to follow a strategy that built the whole side around someone bang average like Fernandez, and that marginalised me in the process.

Why would he stay.

Indeed.

Will be interested to see which one of BlueCo poster player signings jump the sinking ship first. Many assume it is Enzo, Caicedo seems to have made it clear he won't be leaving this summer. However I think it will be Cole, City and United have the funds to sign him and take him back to his boyhood city and mates.

The Utd rumours back in full swing… 150M+

Can tell it’s International break. Zzz

To play where? He isn’t starting ahead of Bruno, and Utd need to spend around £150m+ on two CM. They are stacked at “10” with Bruno & Cunha, RW with Diallo & Mbuemo. Just his agent looking for an improved contract.

First thing I heard when I turned on TalkSport this morning on drive to work - "Cole Palmer reportedly wants out at Chelsea".

Hope it's all bo**ocks. I know his form hasn't been as great this season but honestly, take him out of the side and we could be replicating Spurs next season. We HAVE to keep the likes of Palmer.

There's your first mistake. Non-stop bo**ocks.

Swap deal to bring Mason ‘home‘…

Cole getting plenty of criticism after last night, despite the whole England team bing sh*te.

Japan actually played some good football and were quick in attack and had more energy. Whereas England resembled CFC on a bad day. So many players are out of form and when the WC starts after a long season, I really can't see football coming home. So save yourself the bother Cole and enjoy a good summer holiday and rest!

I like Mason Mount yet he has an injury he has never recovered from so it would be madness to buy or swap him for someone else.

Cole has been struggling, possibly now found out at top level or maybe not enough quality around him to pull away defenders and allow him a bit more time. Whatever it is, it is currently not working for him.

We got Mount's best years. He ended up worn out and injury prone.

Mount's style would always bite him back because it's too reliant on athleticism

Palmer's better when he floats into spaces. He's not sharp enough to play like he used to

Honestly, the excuses for his form needs to stop now. He has been sh*te for a while. He can't beat his man, easily outmuscled and just does not look anyway near a world class player. I am surprised the lack of criticism he has faced since Sunday. I find it crazy when people keep saying Palmer is going to want to leave soon for a team challenging for major honours. His form this season, which team will spend over £100m? I don't see it. He really needs to step up next week against United because he is meant to be our best player and to make things happen and we are not seeing much at all this season. Sunday was alarming of how off the pace he was.

Pretty much. Teams and managers have sussed him, he has to evolve his style of play because the manager is clueless on how to use the team.

If he can't figure something out and this slump persists, we'll be fighting relegation next season

I think we are reluctant to criticise him because we know what an extraordinary talent he has been for us. Hasn't looked anywhere near the player he was, hard to understand his drop in form , it's not that long ago that he was one of the best in the League.

I think it is more the case that the teams know about his game and try to push him off balance, it happened to Tammy Abraham too when he tried to hold up the ball, in the second half of the season they worked Tammy's game out.

If you are playing one touch football they can't do this yet Palmer tries to hold the ball until he sees the opening.

Tammy's problem was always that, for his height, he was understrength. Found out in Serie A too.

Palmer's problem, it seems to me, is a combination of his injury recovery, loss of confidence, and the general malaise at the club.

You have to hope that it is these things, rather than he has got "found out" and opponents know how to deal with him now.

Looking back to that first season under Poch, (and even first part of the Maresca era) he was a complete revelation. Things he was doing and the numbers he was producing were incredible and everyone was of the same opinion that Pep had dropped a massive clanger letting Palmer leave City. We all said how refreshing it was to see a player like Palmer play with no fear and enjoy his football - "like a kid playing in the playground". That has all but disappeared.

He is still only 23 so let's hope it is just a blip and a mixture of the things you have mentioned as to get back the Palmer of 2023 would make a hell of a difference.

Palmer at his best is unpredictable so difficult to be "found out". What hasn't helped him either is confusion over his role, as in his apparent job sharing with Fernandez. Get Fernandez out of the way and let Palmer roam.
