Winstanley and Stewart should explain how they missed out on Mamoush and basically every other decent striker

That's right - wtf are they doing - do they only buy from BHA ?

And £70m - a bloody snip.

No point looking at the table now, we’ll just keep falling regardless. This whole thing of “if x y x win and we go” etc.. pointless. Our true league position after 8 games is 13th place, best to just think we’re 13th (and still forced to buy Sancho on stupid wages).

After the defeat to Villa next Saturday, we’ve got Southampton then Leicester, pretty much season defining, as defeats there take out any particle of hope.

Even if we’re on course for a conference league final (to secure Ropa league), you have to question whether they’d even be up for that.

Everyone’s home support/atmosphere is sh*t these days, but City’s is especially poor. Even when they do bother to sing, it’s a dull dirge like Blue Moon or that ‘best team in the land….’ thing. The Queen’s funeral was more upbeat.

In all honesty can you say our chants/songs are any better ?  The atmposphere at practically every English club is sh!te compared to most European clubs these days.

Decent chance we end up with Real Betis next in the Conference. Those games would actually be interesting. Unlike all previous 6 Europe games.

Fluke/scrape our way past them and Fiorentina will show us up eventually.

I'm watching Liverpool, and the difference between them and us is massive. Midfielders pick up the ball, they run into space or through small gaps, then play a forward pass. Doesn't matter how many players they have around them, they look for the progressive pass or run forward. Wingers pick up the ball and immediately attack the box, with players ready for the cut back. Midfielders quickly hit it wide when they see the pass. Goalkicks take 3 passes to move passed the half way line with midfielders or wingers running at the defence.

As I type, they play 3 quick passes from their own half and win a penalty.

We will never progress until we bring in a manager that moves us on from this slow and overly complicated football.

Maresca doesn’t build up using his midfielders, like Pep he wants to build up from the wings. You are spot on though; we are way too passive and too slow in transition. You would need elite world class wingers to make his system work. Pep has the same issues this season with Savinho & Doku as his wingers.

A spine of De Ligt, Maguire, Mazraoui, Casemiro and Fernandes is so paceless that Ancelotti himself couldn't salvage it. And Don Carlo is a man so Italian he won the Champions' League at AC Milan with a backline of average age 39.
