I don’t get why Cucu has been dropped it doesn’t make any sense at all!!

He has gone with Gusto & James again. Can someone explain why he has dropped Cucurella into the B team? Gusto gets into advanced positions but his decision making is average.

I don't get it either. I thought Cucurella was having a decent season, unlike Gusto who I think has been very poor so far.

Maresca explained in his presser he likes a fullback to be able to move in to the 8, support the attack both wide and as a 10. He spoke at length why he thinks Gusto is the best suited of our players to do so.

He also likes Reece at LCB, so he can cut in on to his right foot and open up his range of passing.

Those are his reasons. I don't agree with them, Cucu is a much better defender and player than Gusto is imo, and one of our few leaders. Bad move.

I am starting to get that “ I want to over complicate simple things” feeling from Enzo.

This is reminding me of Pep over complicating tactics.

Play the players in the right positions that they are suitable for.

Expected to see Cucu back but I guess his midweek game prevented that.

I would understand it if we were taking that prime Jose team, or Carlos team, to United. Rock solid defence and goals in every department, with a bedrock of leadership and experience.

We are not though, we are taking the youngest PL side ever to a red hot pressure cooker. 

I am fearing our backline and Sanchez playing out from the back and being pressed in to giving cheap, key goals away.

I don't think it's arrogance, it's just pointing out the reality. We win, and it puts us 3rd and in a real strong spot. Lose and it makes the Arsenal game even tougher.

I’m starting to think that Enzo is complicating the defence if he plays James at LB. It should be simple, James at RB,  Cucu as inverted LB, he’s one of the best at that in the PL. Play the best players in their best positions. Not rocket science, really. But let’s see how it works today.
