I've taken heat for my complaints about this tournament, but I stand by everything I have said. It isn't going to work.

sh*t attendances and sh*t football with mostly exhausted European teams. Cooling breaks in every half because it's so ridiculously hot. Players go off 5 minutes before the end because weather might get bad. It's just a mess. The crazy part is that FIFA could give the US the next Club World Cup too. Apparently they are considering it because they want to grow the market over there. Once again, it's all about the money. The US will never take to football, it's just not going to happen. It will forever be a niche sport for them. It's like asking the rest of the world to take to the NFL, it's not going to happen.

I feel like in this day and age only the US and the Gulf monarchies are daft enough to pay for these tournaments.

It should never happen again. Whenever we win a game in my mind I'm thinking "that's great revenue for the club" and not "we're one step closer to winning the tournament" because I don't care and this isn't what football should be about. This is a sports washing vanity project by FIFA and Saudi Arabia, they couldn't give a toss about the welfare of the players, the clubs have had the chequebook waved in front of their face and have chosen to look the other way with any player concerns because I guarantee the vast majority of the players playing in the European leagues do not want to be here . It's a complete disgrace.

Exactly. The entire talk has been about the money that can made from this tournament. I don't watch football for the money.

I don't understand why the players don't take matters into their own hands. I've seen them and even the coaches complain about the amout of fixtures so many times over the years, especially more recently, but they still take part. It's down to them to make a stand, because clearly the likes of FIFA and UEFA simply do not give a sh*t. It takes one club to stand up to this and more will follow. The owners of the clubs themselves won't be happy, but what are they going to do about it? Sack every player for breach of contract? They wouldn't dare.

Just asking. Am I the only one that has a bad feeling about this.

Mikel talking about what we have to do to get past Palmeiras. John, its good that we have a pundit on TV giving Chelsea a fair shake, but please, mate, stfu.

Sat watching the filler and it’s pretty apparent that City are winning this tournament. And weirdly, they seem to be the only team to have played a fixture with a crowd looking somewhere near to capacity.

Liverpool are going to have a shock next season having someone to actually compete with.

Concern for health & safety or removing potential liability and exposure to costly lawsuits ?

Of course the fear of having to pay out millions is the main driver for these decisions.

With regards the weather delay, I do get it and I know that we are in for an unusually busy hurricane season this year. So why hold the matches in stadiums on the Eastern seaboard. They knew that this would be a busy season. Erick made landfall in Mexico last week and they have never had a storm made landfall before July before.

There are enough NFL, MLS and college football stadiums that could have held these games. 25,000 in this stadium today.

I will laugh my ass off if this same thing happens in the final. FIFA would deserve it.

Bad enough in this Mickey Mouse thing, but just imagine this in next year’s world cup final?

Interviews at HT are an abomination

They really are and apparently the Premier League have given the go ahead for substituted players to be interviewed as they leave the pitch next season which is even worse if true.
