While I understand the caution the time it took to evacuate those players and fans could have been used to just finish the game.

In a country where one can shoot up a primary school every other week and a mall in between they evacuate stadiums if lightning is within 30 miles is quite preposterous

I got turfed out of the rose bowl and missed a Iggy and Siouxsie perform for exactly the same reason a few years ago, dry as a bone inside, 1000s having the crack, ended event early kicked us all out, then outside they lined us up to wait for shuttle buses into Pasadena in a chain link fence lined area where you line up people in parallel lines - herded us into a ⚡️ conductor / attractor array from apparent safety inside the stadium

It’s more than that. No one wants to stop it. High stadiums no cover is an unnecessary risk with convective weather in the vacinity.

also this all makes me laugh - back in the UK under heat advisories for 28 Celsius. It’s 34 every day back home and no one thinks twice about it. We just call it hot
