They gave Potter a 5-year contract and he was done in 7 months. Heck, Rosenior might give up in the next few months and phoning it in for a sizeable severance package

It's pretty clear Rosenior is out of his depth and we're not even in the 3 games per week part of the season yet

Correct. However, the 5-year deal for Potter was carried out when Boehly was trying to make all the decisions early on. Ultimately, he paid the price for this by giving over that control to Clearlake. If we see something similarly messy with Rosenior, then I think there will be pressure on both the SD's and Clearlake.

In what way is it clear that Rosenior is out of his depth?

i think this could be a very long list if anyone was to respond directly.

To be honest, just sounds like an over used cliche to me.

Waiting for the next one on the list "He's lost the dressing room.........................................."

67% win percentage and Arsenal are the only team to narrowly beat us in 2 months. Qualified for the CL knockouts despite Maresca leaving it in a difficult position. People with a pre-determined view on Rosenior have used a draw to finally be able to jump on his back after being deathly quiet for months.

Embarrassing.

I agree. Feels like most are assuming this will be the case based on his lack of experience and the poor track record of managerial choices made by SD's/board. He may well be found to be out of his depth and I think that will be clearer by end of March. But for now that is uncertain.

ok im prepared to take a flyer, some would say i had written him off before he started😂

  • Hes not ticking any boxes for me and i cant wait to see the back of him😂

  • He seems like a nice bloke but the team and performance is the most important thing.

  • Im not sure hes even going in the right direction so more time could be worse.

(I used to be ruthless but ive mellowed)

clueless and out of his depth.

Arsenal are the only good team we have played during his time with us TBF. AND our transfer policy and so called " project" isn't actually helpful to our managers. Mind you, let's see how we get on from now on . I'll forgive him everything if we wreck Arsenal's title challenge and then contribute to Spurs being relegated!

Come on you BLUES!

I dont get this, why bother having a manager when you could just employ coaches and let snr management in the boardroom select the side through commitee 24 hours before any match... Would save on yearly payouts of compensation.

We need someone in the dugout so cameras can show a bloke waving his arms , shouting and looking crestfallen!

Once AI has proven itself sufficiently we will probably be the first club to employ an AI coach.

Yawn, try harder. When Liam Rosenior ultimately fail, you'll jump on a different bandwagon.

Arsenal is the only decent team we've played. And fyi, being "deathly quiet" for months doesn't always imply agreeance. Real life > football but it's clear this Rosenior appointment will lead us out of Europe, if you can't see that then tough luck

He literally said after the match both Palmer and Neto needed to be taken off because of fitness.

Again, he has little control. The medical team and sporting directors call the shots.

There’s nothing wrong with that. If the CK data says a player is good for only 60 minutes, then that’s the time he should play. This is standard everywhere now with the level of monitoring around fitness and injury risk. Even managers who effectively control squad building still have to follow the data. Though I agree that at Chelsea, the head coach doesn’t even have that level of control.

The real issue, in my view, is squad depth. Some players simply don’t have a reliable senior replacement. So the choice becomes either playing a teenager or overextending someone who’s only fit for 60 minutes and increasing the risk of a muscle injury. That’s where the problem actually lies.

A quick search,
Clubs today track things like:

  • CK (creatine kinase) levels

  • Muscle fatigue and micro-damage

  • GPS load, sprint distance, and acceleration

  • Heart rate variability and recovery

  • Sleep and nutrition

This level of monitoring simply didn’t exist 10–15 years ago. Now the physio and performance departments have objective data, and clubs see injuries as preventable financial losses. If the data says a player is at high risk, the manager is expected to listen.

The 4 CB subs to lock in a win against nearly relegated Burnley.

He got that wrong, but he's not the first coach to throw on defensive players when down to 10 men and holding onto a slender lead. Doesn't exactly mean he is out of his depth.

Not as bad as what Maresca did after Sanchez got sent off against Man Utd.

I don't think LR will be penalised if we miss out on CL football as a lot of that will be down to Maresca.

Having given him a long contract I really can't see him going anywhere UNLESS we lost just about every game from now until the end of the season, and although there are a lot of tough games to come, there are some winnable ones.

And he will probably have told the hierarchy that he needed the rest of this season to judge the squad and then with a pre-season under his belt and hopefully a fit Colwill available next season, things WILL be better.

I am happy for him to be given a decent chance, although I would like to see Gusto and Enzo play a lot less minutes and Acheampong play more.

The long contract is irrelevant. There should be early termination option in that contract based on some performance clause.

There is bound to be an out clause of some description.

What bandwagon would that be? My opinion has always been proven right on here with enough time. When Maresca was being championed as our saviour after winning the conference league and CWC, i was one of the few adamant he needed to go. LR is a breathe of fresh air and learning from his mistakes while getting the best from his players.

LR lead us in to Europe with a win against the Italian champions against all odds after previous appointments struggled to get 3 points against the mighty Qarabag. You've clearly got a chip on your shoulder because LR isn't being paid 300k a week and managed 30+ teams in his career, but his pedigree is evident. From his Derby days it was obvious he was going to go far and now he has the chance to prove it. Its a shame too many fans are pig headed to smell the roses.

I dont get the overly enthusiastic support for Rosenior - Ive simlpy not seen enough to suggest we will get top 4 this season that has to be the objective. Ive not seen anything to suggest he'll be an improvement on Maresca, Potter, Poch, Lampard. I think this is the case for most managers who come here. We'll have Thomas Frank in the summer. Be happy.

THE OWNERS MADE IT PRETTY CLEAR THE MINIMUM ROSENOIR GETS IS CL FOOTBALL, SO THERE WILL BE A CLAUSE IN THERE TO SHOW HIM THE DOOR WHEN WE FAIL

Did they? Is there actual evidence of this?
