Rumours starting up again that Lewis Hall is our dream LB target. If this happens its a 10/10 transfer window, regardless of what else happens.

Chelsea are hovering for the transfer of Newcastle United left-back Lewis Hall after a lack of progress from Manchester United on the deal.

The same report says the club still plans on signing Adam Wharton.

Insane team balance-wise.

Sanchez

James Lacroix Colwill Hall

Caicedo Wharton

Estevao Palmer Rogers

Pedro

Just replace Sanchez with Diogo Costa. That would be great.

He wasn't "let go", he chose to leave.

Exactly. Offered a new, improved contract. Turned it down. His family are lifelong Newcastle, that's where he wanted to go. So much ignorance around here.

Ignorance is a bit harsh. We're arguing over semantics. If he's willing to come back, he could have been convinced to stay

If that happens, Tuchel would be stupid not to take advantage of it. He could build his England side around Chelsea's English players the same way Spain did with Barcelona's players.

I wonder if Eddie Howe leaving means Hall is more likely to leave Newcastle than he was before?

Quick look around the web says united have been looking at this deal for a while, and are favorites.

Far from straight forward as that. He left not close to first choice and wanted to go to Newcastle where Eddie Howe was the manager.

PIF were meant to be the saviours of NU but as we are all witnessing they are in meltdown. Most of their better players have moved on and those that remain want out. Now Howe is likewise out the door then clearly the dream isn’t quite what he expected.

It’s not semantics. He wasn’t let go. He wanted out. And it just doesn’t follow that if he wants to come back he could have been convinced to stay. Circumstances change. Eddie Howe, a big fan, has gone, which might or might not impact on him. Frankly, with Newcastle losing the players they are, I can’t see them letting Hall go whether he wants to leave or not.

I disagree, I think Hall will be gone in this transfer window.

Its just become a weird desperationto show they're the most angry at everything chelsea, the best fan cos they hate so much.

Creating nonsense scenarios so they can then get angry at it.

From a pure footballing point of view I find it sad these teams are forced to sell to conform to the ffp. Villa had one of their best seasons winning a European cup and qualifying for the Champions League yet need to sell .

Its a farcical rule, basically kills of any chance of clubs consistently challenging the legacy clubs, which was the whole aim of it.

Newcastle were forced to sell home grown Anderson and Mineh for a pittance. Villa had to sell several players after getting into Europe, and neither club can now build. Its nothing to do with protecting clubs from themselves and is all about letting the big clubs pick away their players knowing they are safe at the top.
