Agree on Ballack.

Mention to Carlo though, a few minutes worth of great saves that could have given us a different scoreline at the end if it wasn't for him (was it 2 or 3 chances they got) Stepped back in, and done well when called on.

Must admit, I lost my stream a couple of times so missed about 15 minutes. Perhaps during those 15 Maka had a mare? However, from what I saw he was brilliant. Gliding about like the Maka we know and his game is so suited to Champions League.

Ballack, Lamps, Joe and Carvo were all great too but I've voted Maka.

The 3 who stood out for me - Ballack, Lamps and Maka. No surprised we bossed the game with that midfield.

My vote went to Ballack.

Just to ease your mind he didn't! He was superb tonight. I did say in the ame thread that I wanted him to be taken off and rested however on second thoughts I doubt he will play n the next couple of games being as they are against 'lesser opposition' and so therefore it made sense to leave him on.

All that means is that that midfield has got to stay. Pleeeeeaaaaase! ::Scalf::

I haven't seen a minute of tonight's game. I could hardly log on to this site, let alone anything else - you can blame my idiot ISP for that. Still, I'd rather listen to us win than watch us lose.

I voted Lampard but give very honorable mentions to Ballack and Makelele who were fantastic too.

Wasn't sure who to give the vote to. So many players did really well. In the end it was down to Maka or Carlo but seing as Carlo did nothing in the first half (not his fault) I went for Maka who was excellent the entire game.

Ballack again for me, he ooze's class,

Maka was superb, Joey again looked good, good performance all round, including the Manager,

Like SW I had 3-0 so was happy again after my win on the West Ham game

By the way, where is the option to vote Grant in the poll?, does he only get a spot when we lose and need someone to blame?

Grant got his team selection and tactics perfect. I bet some of the people calling for Grant's head were the same people who said Ballack and Lampard couldn't play together icon_rolleyes.gif

I'd have liked a joint MoM option as Ballack and Lampard were individually excellent and worked together really well too.

It was interesting to see that they played further apart than they have in the past with Ballack, in particular, popping up very wide on the right.

All three midfielders must have thought that Xmas had come early with the amount of time and space they were given on the ball. They won't be seeing that again in a hurry.

I gave it to Frank, just edging it over Ballack.

So, I watched the game out in the states, and was explaining, pre-kickoff, that maka was one of the best at what he does, in the business. he was immense, for such a wee guy, but he played incredibly well.

ballack and lampard can't play in the same midfield? Not by tonight's performance. Both of them were great, and maka's influence behind them was undeniable. Can't really chose between the pair of maka and ballack, but i might also add that kalou had a great great game. his first touch and vision was exemplary, and the goal 9scrappy as it was) was brilliantly played too.

for me, it goes, just, to ballack

Gave mine to Malouda - he got his shirt on the right way round, trust me that's not so easy when you're French, plus the boy needs his confidence built up. After slagging him of along with Bluebeard I think it's time to pick him up, dust him off and convince the boy he's a world beater Malouda not Bluebeard that is.

Well i voted before looking at the posts and it is no surprise that Ballack (my choice) has so many votes. He just ooozed class and run his socks off. We really can see what all the fuss was about now.

And in two games now we have battered teams with the 'it can't work' midfield of Maka, Lamps and Ballack.

Don't you just LOVE rubbing the press' nose in it! 541.gif
