loz
OK people have asked for this before so name and shame time. I have allowed people to vote for more than one player but try adn keep it to a maximum of three and post who you have voted for and why.
loz
Personally I have gone for Joe Cole who I don't think actually started the game. Even when we were on top I thought he was having a howler and was rightfully hooked. Scolari who I think got the changes all wrong and although it is hard to say why we played so half heartedly even in the first half he has to take some of the blame for that as well. and Mikel who although his all round game was better than a lot of others there is no way you can ignore the basic mistakes he made for two of the goals. Nibs
Only voted for Mikel. He was shocking and mistakes like that cost you games. The rest were all poor but thgen some were only poor for 45 minutes so not as poor as the rest :P
Lofty
Scolari. Seemed to base his tactics on the assumption that we'd be comfortably ahead by half time. Idiotic substitions and a second half performance that was the worst I've seen from any Chelsea team for a long time.
geezer
Mikel. I've voted for him as MOM on more than one occasion this season but tonight he made 2 telling mistakes which cost us the game.

Chippy
Voted for Scolari because after the first goal he had no answers and we seemed a bit gung ho without the gung...we left sparse defense while still not getting any decent opportunities, He has not once really affected a game for me, we are either the best team from the off or we go through the motions. also Mikel for having his first mare this season, how dare he drop to the standards we expect of Malouda and Anelka? and even Joey on tonights showing. Nibs
There again he could have got into the game and scored or made a couple - who knows?!! The likes of Joe, Malouda and Anelka can have stinkers and we'll moan but at the end of the day someone else like Lamps or Belletti can chip in with a goal and it's all forgotten. Tonight the defence and more to the point Mikel f**ked up big time. And that cost us BIG TIME. Maka very rarely (if ever?) had games like that and that's was the big difference tonight. ethicalstrategy
I went for Scolari, first and foremost, Cole and Mikel. I agree that Mikel was at fault for the first and the third goal but the third in particular was at least partly because we had everyone up field quite needlessly. The big error was just going mad at half time. As bad as Ranieri in Monaco and ironically with exactly the same result.
PloKoon13
Bridge, as he was completely ineffective. Malouda, as he 'did a Malouda'. Lampard, as he just had a real, real stinker. Everything he touched seemed to turn to s**t. You could tell by the look on his face that he's going to be beating himself up tonight.
The Moos
I picked these three: Scolari - Panicked after the first goal and never really seemed to be able to make the team play better. He also didn't seem too prepared for the game. In a big game like this he needs to have everything planned. Mikel I thought he played okay for most of the game, but he also made some pretty big errors and in the end he seemed frustrated and irritated. He then started making a few naste tackles which could have cost him a yellow or a red card if he'd been unlucky. Cole - Where was he? We played with 10 men in the first half. loz
oh come on. silly thread. im sorry but get behind your team. As much as I would like to claim otherwise I don't think any of them are Shed End regulars so this thread shouldn't have too much o a detrimental impact on the team!! Surely a forum is to discuss the bad and the good about what happens at the club, tonight was particularly bad so why not have a thread like this? We have a MOTM one for every game. Lofty
oh come on. silly thread. im sorry but get behind your team. How do you mean? Shut up and pretend it was a decent performance, an unlucky defeat, when in fact it was an abysmal effort in which not one player acquitted himself favourably, and in which the manager made gross errors of judgement both tactically and with substitution. Getting behind the team means "Come on you Blues" during the game .. not "oh it's ok" after a turnout as inexcusably atrocious as tonight's in Rome. Englishman
Picking just three is being kind to the other 12. No one emerged with any positives. Scolari first on the list, another tactical balls up, seems to be a worrying trend in games against top tier opposition. Mikel another, his silly mistakes cost us dear. Anelka and Malouda mediocre, but par for the course with those two. JT very average by his standards. Ditto Lamps. Just a poor showing all round. mad_mac
Scolari, again goes missing in the big games. Joe Cole, all attacks came down the left from Bridge and Malouda in the first half, and the looked effective, just never had anyone in the box to pass to Mikel, as most said....has had some great performances, but tonight was shocking. Anelka, didn't ever once look bothered
Tim W
John Terry, flat footed, naive and oh so slow; obviously money is not the carrot we all thought it was.
BlueBeard
Anelka - yet again he looked like he couldn't give a f*ck. Joe Cole - totally anonymous, the invisible man Scolari - I don't rate him as a club manager at all. Tactically he was total sh*te last night, and the substitutions smacked of desperation. He's beginning to make Avram Grant look like a genius.
Gem
Mikel, Anelka and I feel slightly harsh voting for Joe Cole seeing as how he was never on the pitch on the first place, where was he? His absence was a big loss to us, hopefully next time he'll show up and he can get selected. Oh well, top o' the league(s) and all that.
Mike O
I voted for Malouda simply because of his run on goal (from a genius Mikel pass) which ended with a tragically wide shot when he had Lamps and Anelka inside him. Twat. Again. Twat. Other players made some awful mistakes but on another note, I can't knock Anelka for lack of effort. He ran his socks off but was just woefully ineffective. Just because he looks constantly like he's swallowed a wasp doesn't mean he's not giving it some. His problem, shared with Malouda and Kalou, is that he is simply not strong enough on the ball. Di Santo deserves a start from now on.
Mr Chelsea
we made a lot of mistakes last night and were punished for them all credit to roma lets draw a line under it and move on we cant win them all, occasionally we are going to lose and occasionally we're going get thumped, the management and players are only human we're still in the competition and need to up our our preformances if we going to achieve what we what did last season and 1 bad result doesnt make a bad team at least we didnt have to resort to cheating to get a result

C'mon....I know u don't rate Scolari much, but we are TOP of the league and TOP of our Champs League group, stay in this position, in other words continue as we are, until the end of the season, and I think we would all be very happy. As far as worst performers this game yes Scolari has to take some of the blame, but for me it has to be Mikel. I wanted to throw the computer through the window after that 3rd goal. In his defence he got a little bit unlucky with his recovery tackle, it looked miles off live but on replay he did take the ball then it bounced off the Roma player and towards goal, allowing him to score. S*hit happens, but that was a terrible performance, and it cost us dearly Edited November 5, 2008 by Kev123

S*hit happens, but that was a terrible performance, and it cost us dearly When one or two players have a bad game, then that is probably down to the players. When the entire team are sh*te, that can only be down to the manager, either through lack of motivation, inept tactics, inability to effectively change things when they go wrong, a tendency to panic when things go wrong, or in Scolari's case, all of these things. Yes, we're top of the league, but I doubt very much if we'll still be in that position towards the end of the season unless Scolari changes drastically. We've lost 2 out of our last 3 games, one of them at home to one of our biggest rivals - and in those defeats the players didn't even seem like they cared - that can only be down to the management and/or coaching staff. Maybe Scolari just needs a decent assistant - unfortunately Wilkins is definitely not that man.

dkw
anelka, anelka and anelka. utterly garbage, probably spent the least amount of time in the penalty area as a striker ive ever seen. get in the box and get on the end of the crosses you idle little scrote. playing the ball wide then wandering into the box eventually pisses me right of.
