Following Our Nearest & Dearest Rivals, 2017/2018

Barca looked broken tonight. Messi showing his age and Suarez looked slower than Charlie Adam.

They really need players in. Paulinho is already confirmed and that's a bit if a kick in the teeth to their fans as he's a brutal footballer. Dembelle will be a good signing but he's no Neymar yet. After tonight their fans will be demanding big signings and clubs will be demanding more money as they know how desperate Barca are...a little bit like ourselves really

zidane has outclassed barca since he's in charge : 2 CL and 1 liga in the bag. the best player is en route to become of one the greatest managers, if not already. shame some pundits in france are still questionning his abilities as a coach... But most of them tend to be undercover barca fans for some reason!

He was brutal in England and he wasn't pulling trees up in China or wherever he was.

Oscar had a habit of looking amazing for his country too.

Not pulling up trees? He's been the best player in the league for more than a year and has won back-to-back titles along with an Asian Champions League. Say what you like about Asian football but he's been bossing it there.

Still an odd signing.

£40m for a player who's 29 and never had a successful season playing in Europe?

Given that Barca look in dire need for an injection of quality it's such an odd player to target.

Barca's success rate in the transfer market over the last five years or so has been pretty bad, they've managed to sign quite a few duds.

Barca aren't exactly conventional when it comes to recruitment: Chygrynskiy, Martino, Hleb...

I don't think he'll take the league by storm or anything but the press line on this is silly. The same reporters lathering themselves up over Mourinho signing a 29 y/o Matic and hailing it as the transfer of the summer are guffawing over Barca signing a 29 y/o who just happens to anchor the midfield of the best looking Brazil team of the last decade. It's lazy journalism, writing a player off on the basis of him 'not doing it for Spurs' under AVB and Sherwood four years ago is clickbaity nonsense.

i'm interested in tomorrow's game between utd and swansea. i will be hoping abraham starts the game so we can see how he performs against top level defenders. it's just utd's luck that they face swansea just as they sell arguably their best midfielder in sigurdsson. utd really are getting the fortune at the moment with no games vs top 5 side until october.

At least Jose can't moan about fixtures now.
