I think Neto is a useful player, as I've stated many times. Now, that doesn't mean we can't improve on him, even if we're looking for similar characteristics. With that out of the way, this is a squad problem, not a Neto problem. If we had, or end up signing, a better player with similar or different characteristics, that player would naturally start more games, and Neto would become an interesting option off the bench. A club that aims to be playing CL football routinely cannot think about getting rid of players; it's about improving the squad.

Like Benitez, we shouldn’t ever be hiring managers with a history against us at a rival. Alonso has his Liverpool history, but he was always a smooth operator, and a stand up guy, it’s not like hiring a Carragher.

He'll be on 3 years remaining in 2027, and he's currently earning only £45kpw. It seems likely.
