Lord got a reaction from wallosh in We've got a new KepaWhatever Kepa thought about his injuries or whatever else is irrelevant. If the manager makes the call of substitution, at whatever point of the game, for whatever reason, whether you like it or not, you follow his lead. Simple.
That's elementary school football.

Lord got a reaction from erskblue in Man City V Chelsea (PL) Sun 10th Feb 16:00 UKI would tolerate the gloom of Pool winning the title if we secured top four.
Important we win. We have some very tough matches coming up.

Lord got a reaction from celery76 in Chelsea vs Huddersfield Town (PL) Sat 2nd Feb 15:00 GMTI can't stand the amount of pessimism around here.
We are playing good football; Hazard has been absolutely superb and with a little bit of luck, we could have had a few goals more.
We have a new striker who has barely been with us for a week.
Cut down on so much negativity.

Lord got a reaction from Oli in Eden Hazard - Chelsea LegendEven if what you say about his downed tools is correct, he’s still Chelsea’s best player by miles, and the only one capable of creating magic.
How we rebuild after he’s gone in the summer will decide where we intend to be as a Premiership club. Everyone around him in the current squad look pretty average to me right now.

Lord got a reaction from Barry Bridges in Bournemouth V Chelsea (PL) Wed 30th Jan 19:45 UKThe reactions are too knee jerk.
Yes, we shouldn’t be losing 4-0 to silly Bournemouth, but give the manager at least one full season before jumping to conclusions. People are calling for Sarri’s head already.
We are probably the most “knee-jerk” set of fans in the Premiership. We can still win a cup or two (who knows all three!) and finish in Champions league places. That’s a very good season for me considering how gloomy everything was at the end of last season.

Lord got a reaction from Ewell CFC in Who’s next after Sarri? We have been plagued by the same problem that has hit Manchester United in the last few years - one club has been run by an English investment banker who has very little footballing brains and the other by a perplexing Russian lady who probably has equally little footballing sense.
Both clubs desperately need sensible directors of football.
The magical chair of changing managers will never stop otherwise.
The problem isn't Sarri or his brand of football.

Lord reacted to icecoolguy22 in Jorginho is.... (well now was) a BlueFor me, h but most of his 90-100 passes per game are those short passes side ways as means to keep the ball. It's not threatening and opposition tend to let most of those passes go as it's purely keeping possession in non-threatening areas. He's a talented player, but I can't record he put in through balls over defenders like Cesc could. If I was after goals against a compact defence, I'd put on Cesc and take Jorginho off. He's not a good defender, and circumstances put him 1 on 1 against a very fast player yesterday, still should have taken the card and not costing us the goal. He still needs time to adapt, so let's not get too harsh on him.
-
Lord reacted to Nibs in Jorginho is.... (well now was) a BlueIt was bound to happen - lot of criticism coming for Sarri and Jorginho after how badly things went yesterday. And it is valid criticism so I only hope Sarri takes it on board and isn't too stubborn.
Folk have been scratching their heads at questioning playing Kante out of position but where we went on the unbeaten run and Jorginho was pulling the strings in many of those games it was hard to argue. But now it has gone wrong in such a big game, if he continues with the same set-up, the criticism will build and Sarri will soon find out what the pressure in the PL is all about. I for one would like to see Kante return to his normal position in the next game.
-
Lord reacted to Barry Bridges in Jorginho is.... (well now was) a BlueWas man marked out of the game by a barely trying Alli .... thought Barkley should have been brought on for him at the half with Kante taking that CM role. If the team is to rely on Jorginho as the midfield general he needs to learn how to operate effectively while being heavily pressed.... especially as he seems to offers next to nothing aside from his passing( not trying to be harsh, just realistic).
-
Lord reacted to brownindian in Jorginho is.... (well now was) a BlueWe play a Thursday game as well - Fulham game could easily become a draw and we may suddenly find ourselves outside the top4.
-
Lord got a reaction from Nickcook26 in Jorginho is.... (well now was) a BlueI have been saying this for two months now that both Jorginho and Kante should NOT be in the same team, when we have such average level of creativity (except Hazard) and finishing qualities in the squad.
Jorginho doesn’t have a lot of pace (neither built) and seems to struggle with distribution when the game is fast or the opposition presses high. In trying to accommodate him, Kante is out of his usual position and is only half the player he once was.
I just wrote something similar in the matchday thread too.
-
Lord reacted to Zeta in Jorginho is.... (well now was) a BlueHe can't be untouchable. If he's not performing, then Sarri can't be afraid to take him off and try something else. Or start with something else.
-
Lord reacted to Nickcook26 in Jorginho is.... (well now was) a BlueTerrible today.
Two poor games in succession now.
Arguably should have been sent off.
The way Son scored his goal was actually quite embarrassing for a holding/defensive midfielder.
Plenty of praise on this thread but I think equally deserving of criticism for the past 2 games.
Sarri seems set on playing him in this position for the season so we can only hope he improves.

Lord got a reaction from Ernie_blue in Chelsea v Everton (PL) Sun 11th Nov 14:15 UKThe problem around here is if you criticise either Jorginho or Kante, you are portrayed as someone who doesn't understand the "game".
