January 31, 20197 yr I ask for radical changes, and a focus in youth with something to prove. First off we need leadership back, so I would like Cahill restored. Christensen back in defense, azpi back to left back a rudiger at right back. Ampadu, RLC and CHO in. Drop the under performers. Kepa Rudiger christensen Cahill Azpi Ampadu Kante Barkely CHO Higuain RLC Never gonna happen.
January 31, 20197 yr I suspect we will see a similar team to tiday's disaster. Probably Alonso back in for Emerson, and Willian for Pedro. Perhaps RLC for Kovacic. I would like to see CHO start but I highly doubt that will happen. Hoping he at least gets 20-30 mins from the bench
January 31, 20197 yr I think sarri needs to put kante back in his position, and needs to stop this passing sideways and backwards. Sarriball is not working in the prem and its getting obvious the play 68 % possesion last night and we 4 -0 down to Bournemouth its a joke something needs to change sarri were playing in the premier leauge not training.
January 31, 20197 yr While we have Sarri we will likely have Sarri-ball, perhaps just a tweak is needed defensively so that when we are so far up the pitch one of the M/Fs with pace drops back with the CBs to help prevent the counter attack, it might be Kante or Kovacic.

January 31, 20197 yr Kepa Azpi Rudiger Christensen Emerson Jorginho Kante RLC CHO Higuain Hazard Would even be tempted to drop Hazard too.
January 31, 20197 yr Look at this forum right now, look how much we want Sarri to try something different! I'll be surprised to see one person who goes with the team Sarri is playing for their starting line up. Plsss play CHO mr Sarri, we beg

I think Christensen can defend higher up the pitch better than Luiz. Don't mind Willian on the left for Eden, but you will probably get linched on here for suggesting it.
January 31, 20197 yr The people popping Emerson in for this, how did he do last night? I didn't see the match, nor any highlights and I have deliberately kept out of the toxic morass of the match thread, but I've seen a few slightly less than complimentary comments elsewhere about his performance.
January 31, 20197 yr Not great. Didn't contribute as much in attack as I thought he would. Gave away the stupid free kick in the 95th minute that led to their fourth goal (and probably killed off any hopes of a fightback).

I thought Hazard looked a little disinterested last night and also had about four defenders around him every time he got the ball. If he does not start it gives the opposition a bit more to think about in terms of who to mark. If we need him then he can always come on and likely turn the match.
January 31, 20197 yr Kepa Zappacosta Rudiger Christensen M.Alonso RLC Kante Ampadu CHO Higuain Willian Bench: Caballero,D.Luiz,Azpi,Kovacic,Pedro,Hazard,Giroud Put the armband on Rudiger.
January 31, 20197 yr I haven't done this in a while, but I would like to see Kepa Azpilicueta Rudiger Christensen Emerson Kovacic Kante Loftus-Cheek Hudson-Odoi Higuain Hazard Bench - Caballero, Luiz, Alonso, Pedro, Willian, Barkley, Giroud. I think Luiz has to miss out for his performance last night, those mistakes can't really be ignored. His long balls forward are an asset, but to reward somebody after that performance wouldn't be fair on the other players trying to get into the team. I'm not saying drop him for good, just let somebody else have a go for a game or two. I would give Emerson another chance. Alonso has been awful for a few months now, we should atleast give Emerson more than one game to prove himself before reverting straight back to something that wasn't working. Play Kante in the defensive midfield position and drop Jorginho. Jorginho has become a weakness and a target. It's stupid to persist with the same thing if it's not going to work. I would rather see Kante play in a position he actually looks comfortable in and Kovacic play in what I think is his most natural position for us. Or, if Kante is going to be forced to play in the same position, try Kovacic in the Jorginho role. It's actually quite likely that Kovacic could play that role better than Jorginho. I think his footwork is tidier and I think defensively he is tidier too. Try Hudson-Odoi. Our other two right wingers just aren't consistent enough. Both Willian and Pedro are more likely to produce stinkers than good performances at the moment so I say give the kid a chance.
January 31, 20197 yr Running basically the same 11 every week and expecting different results is crazy. But, I would imagine a front line of CHO-Hig-Hazard with a midfield of Jorg-Kante-RLC and a back 4 of Azpi-Rudi-Christensen-Emerson, might offer something more. It isn't radical but ffs Sarri's gotta do something. I don't think Kante fits into Jorginho's role, but if we drop Jorginho throw Kovacic in there. Will he do better? Holy funkin waggles I have no clue but damn blind faith in players isn't that great either. I mean really, if our midfield could actually score a freaking goal our conversations might be a tad different. But when Jorginho and Kovacic are in midfield with Kante, Kante is our primary midfield goal threat and, nothing against Kante, that is not good. "It's hard to motivate this group of players." Well, you better figure something out Sarri because you're gonna be looking for a job if you don't get some points across to these players.

January 31, 20197 yr Kepa Azpi Rudiger Christensen Emerson Jorginho Kante RLC CHO Higuain Hazard Would even be tempted to drop Hazard too.I will be happy with this line up but unfortunately Alonso will start over Emerson, we will beat poor Huddersfield easily and Emerson will be made a scape goat because he will never start any EPL game again except when Alonso is injured.
