Question
Defense begins with your keeper, and Petr comands his area like no other, he installs confidence in his back 4 like no other, and he is one of the ebst keepers in the world. however, Terry is a Lion and bleeds for Chelsea, you could see it in his eyes against barca this year. really really tough call, but I think Cech just pips it for me Scott

ricardo "franz" carvalho
wow, Enrico, there really is no pleasing some people. Riccy is a tremendous defender, and we ahve been spoiled in recent years with the amount of talent that we have had in those positions. I think the Terry being injured was hugely instrumental in our lagging behind Manu, but at the same timem, I think Riccy is very instrumental in teh fact that we still have a glimmer of hope Scott

Desailly
Never a truer word spoken in regards to Desailly's presence in our team. I remember that night so vividly, it wasn't about Chelsea it was about the Turks and the English. Desailly played brilliantly that night, and forever should be remembered as one of the greatest defenders of all time. I remember when he retired with us, there were people saying that the word "legend" was thrown around too easily, and should Desailly actually be considered in such terms. My reply was something along the lines of "obso-fecking-lutely" Scott

1/4. Chelsea vs Valencia. 1st leg.
lamps was poor today, that is for certain, I can't think of one thing he contributed to todays game. Corners and free kicks were poor and predictable Scott

Welcome back Joe Cole!!!
yeah great to see, and a great ovation for him when he came onto the pitch. Too much was probably expected of him, but it is great to see him back. If we make it past Valencia, and this is now a big IF, he could be instrumental in the CL games Scott

Manure fans clash with italian police
I know that a lot of us on here hate the mancs, but that is totally uncalled for. I didn't even see that bloke (albeit we see about 2 seconds of build up) doing anything wrong. I think he was merely guitly of falling over then getting leathered by the Italians. Don't know what the fella at the end had done to him, but it is shocking. However, we also need to realize that this is the second time in as many away European matches that Man U fans have been involved in crownd trouble. Therefore I think that UEFA needs to do something. I also think, although this is tenuous, that the Italian police had the manc's reputation in their heads and were over zealous in their efforts to quell a situation. However, the plight of English fans travelling abroad is well documented, and as always it is a few bad apples who spoil it all for the rest. I hope that the Italian police, adn Man U alike are issued fines for both their disgusting behaviour Scott

Am I right in saying Rio wasn't even booked for this?
I think Man U, as a team, should be docked 9 points, and Rio can play all he wants Scott

PSV vs Liverpool and Milan vs Bayern CL QF
we really have our work cut out to come and join your lot in the semis Rob, but I would love for us to make it. Good to see the mancs go down tonight, and undoubtably Sky will vilify the Italian police, and blame nothing on the mancs. Alos, the kaka penalty was shocking, that was a perfectly timed tackle by the defender. Just rewards that bayern got an equalizer late on Scott

Guess which player ran the furthest
I think he puts in a lot mroe work than we maybe give him credit for. His runs can drag opposing players away from their positions, and tonight he played som exceptional balls into areas that people didn't actually seem to recognize were available. Scott

1/4. Chelsea vs Valencia. 1st leg.
There were roughly three accounts where we could have had penalty shouts. The one highlighted in the link in this post, the second half when Sheva couldhave gone down, from del ohnno, but then del boy reached around and handled it off shevas head. Also, when tery was brought down by the neck. I would feel a lot better with us going away with a goal cushion. Also, I think that we should start letting Ballack take the free kicks. Lamps is was off, predictable, and hasn't challenged with an effort in a good while. His corners were also decideably poor. There were one or two tonight that actually lead to any form of attack. Most were either cleared by the first defender, or lobbed far too long and went out for the goal kick We can do this against Valencia, their home record is immpecable, but that doesn't mean we can't overcome Scott

1/4. Chelsea vs Valencia. 1st leg.
well a decent result especailly after their wonder goal from a player who did nothing else all game. however, this result certainly suits valencia a lot better. they have scored away from home, and they are bringing us back to their ground where they have won EVERY CL game so far this season, and i think only conceded once! Does not look promising. Still, we have goen away and done it before (beshiktas) Oh, and great goal for Drogs tonight, makes him the first player since King Kerry Dixon to score 30 for us in a season Scott

1/4. Chelsea vs Valencia. 1st leg.
good free clowing match so far, but we have been left asking questions at the back on a couple of times already. Also, we need to score tonight, as Valencia really look like scoring against us. A clean sheet and CECH will be the man!!!

Man Utd plan Title party
think they can plan away, and unless they toally blow up, they rightly deserve their title party Scott

Watford vs. Chelsea
we were also quite lucky that Drogba didn't muscle Kalou off the ball for the winning goal. It seemed that there must have been no shout from Kalou as Drogs nearly jumped backwards to get the ball. Kalou is certainly providing some skill and flair to be excited about, infact, he Mikel and Diarra as future players is no bad thing Scott

Frank out with a 'broken wrist' !
also confirming it on SSN he is to wear a prottective wrist thihngymujig Scott

diarra
You would think so the way he has been playing. Honestly I thik this kid is a future star, which makes me all the more anxious when I hear rumours that he is unhappy at the club and looking to leave to find more first team football. Honestly, it is all press BS, I think that he will start more next season and we will have maka as his mentor and back up Scott

Movies and all it includes
I think you could make 23 out of anything, I like how they use 2012 as the end of the world, and then say 20+1+2=23 could also be 2+0 1+2=5 Scott

One for you, Pauly:
I agree to an extent Pauly, I am all for a parent sharing knowledge, but not forcing their kids in hopes the can vicariously live their dreams (failed) of professional athleticism through their kids without the kids really being that thrilled on the idea anyway Scott

Final at Wembley confirmed
you and I both, especially when we had beaten them twice in the league that year. Think Peacock had a couple in those games, adn then missed a chance in the final which coulc have turned the game around....but the ref was always against us too Scott

I agree. I haven't heard "Strolling" for at least 30 years! Think I remember the words, but I'm not 100% sure - I'm strollin', just strollin' By the light of the moon above I don't envy the rich in their automobiles A motor-car is phony I'd rather shanks' pony* When I'm strollin', just strollin' By the light of the moon above * this was inevitably changed over time to "I'd rather shag a pony" I'll be surprised if this is the same song that's gonna be reprised - no football references at all! There again, Citeh's "Blue Moon" is in a similar vein. How about some other oldies from under the Shed? Lee Marvin's - Wand'rin' Star - "I Was Born Under A Chelsea Shed..............", or Teddy Bear's Picnic - "If you go under the Shed today, you're sure of a big surprise......" I prefer them to "Strollin'" personally, but each to their own.... classy touch on the Pony part mate!! The wandrin star is that one with where knives were made for stabbin and guns were made to shoot, right? Can't remember all the lyrics And the Teddy bears picnis I can never remember the name of the bear who bought bovver boots and shaved his hair. I think in the PC world these may not catch on Scott
