  1. He's done fine since arriving. For all intents and purposes he's been a direct replacement for Kalou and an improvement on him at that. Long term he'll prove to be more consistent too in my opinion. Good signing.
  2. Owes the club and the fans? Absolutely not, he owes us nothing. He's already given us 12 years of high quality performances, goals, and a huge contribution to our trophy haul in that time. He wants to continue playing at the highest level possible (I presume anyway) and if the club are stupid enough to let him go, and if United give him a chance, then I'd say thank you very much Frank and best of luck. I don't want to see him at United, or anywhere that isn't Chelsea for that matter, but should he leave my opinion of him won't change one bit.
  3. Regarding Ovrebo, I think he was just incompetent rather than corrupt. If he was deliberately helping Barca in that game he wouldn't have sent Abidal off.
  4. If I had to guess (and that's all this is) I would say it probably involved a smaller European team, whose players wouldn't be on big wages. A couple of players would have received money for making sure their team lost.
  5. Why? It's not like cases like this are that common. The majority of players don't end up like Gascoigne. I don't have a whole pile of sympathy for Gascoigne, just like I didn't with George Best. At the end of the day, they've nobody but themselves to blame for how they ended up.
  6. Two big signings for Galatasaray. They could provide an upset or 2 in the Champions League this season.
  7. TJB replied to Mod's topic in General Chelsea FC
A bit of an over-reaction if that happened. As stupid as it was to do, a 3 match ban is the most likely punishment.
  8. And that's fine, I have no problem with him not giving up. But you use that spirit to do something productive on the ball and do something positive for the team. You should also stay smart and avoid doing something stupid. Anyway, getting away from the incident, congratulations to Swansea. They deserved their win and best of luck to them in the final. Hopefully we'll do better in the FA Cup & Europa.
  9. Clueless? Why? Please enlighten me to the wisdom of what Hazard did and how it benefited our attempt to get back into the game, because from where I'm sitting that killed what slim chance we had. And the irony is this incident delayed the game more than the ballboy's delay tactic would have. I get you and others are angry at the kid's overreaction to what happened. But if Hazard just leaves it and does what all the other players did (move back into position) then this whole thing doesn't happen.
  10. Yes I was watching. Here you watch it again. (Better make it fast cos the vid will probably go down again) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZhFskT4XyAs Go to 1.11 or there abouts. Quality isn't great but you can still see it. Now, like I said, it may have been a genuine attempt to get the ball (still stupid) but ask yourself, if you're the person hearing an appeal for that, are you gonna rescind the red card? I sure as sh*t wouldn't.
  11. He kicked a kid. I don't care if he was trying to get the ball or if he made contact with it (the footballing authorities won't care either btw). The kid wouldn't have any injury to fake if Hazard didn't do anything. Those extra few seconds won't make any difference. It was an incredibly stupid thing to do on a number of fronts. First off it killed off what slim chance we had tonight. Secondly, he's gonna earn at least a 3 match ban for that which is something we could do without.
  12. Stupid from Hazard. Absolutely idiotic. Deserves his red card.
  13. And what if he is rotated and breaks down anyway? It's just as likely to happen. There's no reason Ba can't play 2 games in a single week. Maybe not every week over the course of a season but he could definitely have started against Arsenal and again against Swansea. United wouldn't leave Van Persie out of their important games, likewise City with Aguero. We shouldn't do it either.
  14. While funny, I would have to question whether it's real or not. I mean, why would they have to be paid in cash, to Mertesacker of all people? Surely the easiest way to do it would be to withhold the amounts from their wages, no?
  15. No chance of a league title so a United win is preferable.
  16. It's hard to predict what Chelsea will turn up on Sunday, much less the result. If we play somewhat close to what the lads are capable of then we should win. With the exception of Wilshere, maybe, we're better all over the park than Arsenal. But that won't matter a damn if we continue with the kind of performances we've had against Swansea, QPR & Southampton. I'm hoping for a win (obviously) but won't be surprised if we lose. My prediction: 0-0
  17. I don't care who scores, as long as someone does.
  18. Ok people, there is one simple solution for your hatred of the Daily Mail.....STOP f**kING READING IT!! Stop going to their website and stop linking to their articles and giving them traffic. When you do that, you're no longer troubled by the rubbish they publish.
