  1. I dont expect any selection surprises, i expect the same 11 for the Liverpool match. if we play 442 at some stage, I expect Sheva to come on instead of Anelka. I just think on the biggest stage, with all the experience he has, he can do something special.
  2. I have the feeling we bought him just because we didnt want Manu to get him. Even if we need a full back, there are other options like Alves, Lahm etc available. why do we have to sign this guy before the season end? Couple of months down the track, we will be kicking ourselves for not signing Alves or Lahm on the cheap during the official transfer season.
  3. Essien for me, even out of position he is still a constant threat. Sheva was pretty good, lost his pace but still knows where to stand in the box. Pity we havent played him since the start of the year, could have snatched us a few more points.
  4. The difference between us and Man U this year is we just cant score that extra goal when we had all the possession in the world. For all the money we have spent, we dont have a player who can put in a decent cross, and I cant remember the last time someone scored from a direct freekick. On his day, Drogba is unplayable, but he just had too many off days this year. He did try hard today, but missed a simple tap in and a one on one, unfortunately at this level it's just not good enough. The selection of maka is a bit strange. We all know Bolton is a long ball team bypassing the midfield. Starting with Mikel or playing a 442 would be a lot effective.
  5. If We win the Champions league, cant see him getting the sack. No one in the history has been sacked after winning the Champions league, so fair enough! Give him credit while it's due, we do need to recongnise the fact he has 2 assitant managers running the show. He didnt get involved when the players got into arguments on the field, not running the training session.. I mean, the man doesnt do a lot for the amount of money the club pays him..
  6. If only we played 442 against lesser oppositions..
  7. A great result, not a great performance. Thanks for JT's goalline clearance and a misfiring Owen we didnt go behind. After scoring the goal, we took the foot off the pedal immediately, almost let them back into it. Had we conceded a goal around 70 minutes mark, we could have been F** big time. we seems to have a habit of going back to our shell straight after scoring a goal. Look forward for the super weekend
  8. We need to play Drogba and Anelka together, not necessarily starting with 442 . Maka doesnt play EPL these days, and Joe Cole should be rested (or dropped). Move Essien into the midfield, and if a certain Damien Duff will play, we should play Ferriera to cover the right flank.
  9. To be fair to West Ham, they did not have the team to get a result yesterday. A 19 year old Center back against Ronaldo and Tervez is the biggest mismatch in history. As for Wigan, they will just go through the monition with nothing to play for. Coming second by goal difference would be a good consolation. We need Man U to play their best 11 next week ahead of the Cup final, cant drop point this week to give them the luxury to rest players ahead of the cup final. We lost too many points due to those unnecessary draws, last minute draws against Wigan and Everton at home, the 4:4 draw with Villa and Spurs.. Thats where the title could have been won..
  10. If we are going to play 2 strikers next season, most likely we will go back to diamond, since Grant still prefer 3 men in central midfield. Therefore a player like Lahm would be great, he has speed, able to cross , and tackle. If we are still playing 433, cant see the desperate needs to sign him. We already extended contract for Paulo, there is still Belleti, and Essien (whom Grant seems to prefer at RB). On the left, Cole and Bridge got it covered.
  11. I thought it was a good sub at the time. The obvious choice in that situation would be a midfielder like Mikel or a defender such as Alex. However that will make us play even deeper, and long punts downfield as the only way out of trouble for the final few minutes. With Sheva on the field, we made their defenders track back, and additonal outlet to run the ball out of our half. I wouldnt call Grant a genius for doing it, but it beat putting Alex on
  12. Give Sheva for free then buy Kaka for 50+ millons? how f** stupid are we.. I enjoyed the role Sheva played as a 'defensive striker' in the past 2 games, a goal line clearance and few decent runs upfield, job well done!
  13. Essien for me, should had a goal beside his name as well. He played out of position for the entire match, imagine how much damage he could have done in the midfield
  14. Bet Ronaldo will come on shortly.. Pleasantly surprised by the generosity of Fergie.. Win the Premiership or not is another matter, but would be f** sweet to beat Manu at home..
  15. I watched the full replay after knowing the result in the morning, painful indeed but I watched it becasue I couldnt believe we could throw away points like this What the fcuk with the team selection, 2 strikers and 2 wingers on the bench? Yet Anelka is the only striker on the field? We had a very ordinay first half, can't blame Grant for that completely, but every time the camera was on him, all I saw was Grant sitting there motionless like a bored Soccermom on the weekend. When was the last time we saw Jose, or any other managers do that when the team is playing like $hit? If the man want to be seen as a Chelsea Manager, he better act like one. After taking the lead, a state of confusion for both the players and manager on what to do next. Beletti got ripped apart again, but there was no one on the bench could cover him, or a Maka to protect the back 4. In the last 5 minutes , players were still in 2 minds. We had a few good shots on goal, but not keeping to ball as we should be doing. Cech saved a certain goal, yet the players are still not defending around the box. What did Grant do? Still sitting on the bench like a bored spectator. After conceding the goal, Grant called up Sheva. I could see the look in Sheva's face, it was like - what the fcuk? now you remember me ? Of course it's way too late. Grant is the biggest fraud in the history of football managers. If he is a man of integrity, he should resign at the end of the season and go back to his old job
  16. Got injured at the wrong time and Grant bought Anelka which pushed him out of the team for the remaining of the year. Under Jose, at least he got a game once a few weeks, Grant was supposed to be the man to turn Sheva's form around, but he just left him in the cold forever. I cant see him get a game from now on, for the year and possibly forever.. At his age, maybe best to Join Beck at LA Galaxy .
  17. Give him credit while it's due. However playing 442 is hardly rocket science, under the circustances with nothing to lose, wouldnt most managers put on a striker in place of a defensive midfielder? Anyway, first win against a 'big team', hope there are more to come this season..
  18. At least we cant call this guy a flop, because he hasn't played a match yet
  19. I cant remember the last time we can not protect a 1 goal lead ( let alone 2 goals) in the second half under Jose. There is the league title down the drain, now Grant can 'focus' all his effort on winning the Champions League now The appointment of Grant is a joke, although he looks like a decent man. The only upside of this Grant fiasco is that no couch managers will claim - I can do better than Jose at Chelsea if I have that much money..
  20. Grant can't beat a decent team with a competent manager, even at home, just recall Liverpool, Villa, Portsmouth, Everton... I expect a 1:1 draw, because Arsenal isn't in great touch right now, and the home ground advantage do count for something. We will get a couple of bad calls, and Grant can save his life by pointing the fingers at the ref and moan about his bad luck'..
  21. Now I dont feel that bad about letting Robben go last year. A great player on his day, but out injured again when his team needs him the most.
  22. First cup final of the season and the one we had real chance of winning it. a full squad to pick from, playing against the rival who only had 2 days preparing for the match.. No excuse what so ever, Grant can follow Jose's suit by blaming the refree, but he fu** up big time. Maybe this is a good thing in disguise, Grant keep f** it up and Roman will hire someone decent next season..
  23. Under Jose he is irreplceable with the attack build around him, he is still untouchable now because Grant is still copy/paste Jose's approach. With a new formation/approach next season we will be able to replace him, may even have a few pounds left with his sell. We stuck with him for 2 years when he was ordinary, he had one great season and he's too good for us ( at least thats how to media portrayed it). He wanted to have an operation before the ANC and we let him, and he is still talking Cr@ps.. He is a very good player, and thats about it, if we spend wisely, we will buy another very good player and hopefully he wont be talking $hit every week..
  24. I see it as a sign of genorosity from Roman, a big pay off when He decide to get rid of Grant in near future. It doesn't offer him any job security, just a way of Roman says - well done so far, if you f** it up, you will still get the bonus I promised..
  25. For the sake of the club and him, cut him loose this summer. He hasn't been good for the club and the team has no been playing his style either, it's been a marriage made in hell.. He is too good a player to sit on the bench every weekend, for a player of his quality he should have a dignified end to his career. Give him back to Milan for a box of popcorn, as long as we don't have to pay his 135k week salary.
