  1. My experience was similar to yours it would seem. Went out on Eurostar on the Tuesday and had a great first evening in Paris. On the day of the game we made our way to the ground, mid-afternoon, in the vain hope of getting tickets. The going rate was 300€ so when it became apparent that the tout scum weren't going to budge on that price we headed off to the Frog & Princess pub to watch the game. We left the ground much earlier than you Zola, so it's interesting to hear that the price didn't drop closer to kick-off as we thought it might. We didn't want to take the risk and so allowed ouselves enough time to get a good spot in the pub to view the game. The pub was quiet when we got there, but soon filled up until by kick-off it was bursting at the seams, though sadly, despite being a supposedly "English pub", mostly with PSG fans. No hint of any trouble, but it would've been nice to have had a few more Chels there. Which pub were you in Zola?
  2. Welcome to the club mate. I'm sure there will be several hundred if not thousands in the same boat. I too booked travel (Eurostar) and hotel as soon as the date was announced. Both are non-refundable so I'm going whatever. I tried and failed to get tickets through Chelsea and PSG. I harbour a vain hope of getting tickets once in Paris, but realistically my best hope is a good piss-up and watching the game in a pub in central Paris. So good luck...
  3. Am also going to Paris for this one. Eurostar and hotel were booked long before I knew whether I'd get match tickets. Last time we played PSG in a group game I was able to buy tickets direct from PSG. This time it's a different story of course, as they are a much better team now and it's a QF. They sold out very quickly this time, by Tuesday afternoon. Prices being quoted on the black market are ridiculous, and such is the demand that I expect for me it's a bar in central Paris for this one.
  4. Very moving article. JT is clearly a great support to the younger players at the club and is often seen in attendance at youth games. It's heartwarming to hear a first hand account demonstrating his kindness and generosity. Shame that the media only talk about the negatives. JT = leader, legend!
  5. Hazard, just ahead of Luiz & Mata. We improved hugely when Mikel came on for Lamps too..
  6. with a bit of luck he'll get a retrospective ban. Snidey c***
  7. Good fun? What do you base that on? Surely to be on the media you should have some degree of articulacy? He is just plain thick. He also hates Chelsea since SWP failed to make the grade with us.
  8. Best performance this season, especially second half. Proud of the boys...but we could and should have won it.
  9. Like the lyrics, but what is "ktbffh"?
  10. I too have always liked City and had mates who are City fans. I seem to remember them being described as the Chelsea of the north as, like us, they were perennial underachievers. Ironic then that we are now the 2 richest clubs!

I always liked Martin Samuel when he was at The Times and was very disappointed that he moved to the Mail. However, he clearly left for a bigger salary and who can blame him. Regarding his occasional anti-Chelsea articles, he's a West Ham fan so I have no beef with him if he is sometimes critical of the way our club is run. He's by far the best footballl journo.
  12. It grates on many of us. Membership used top guarantee a cup final ticket. As such I was able to get tickets for the '94, '97 finals. But in those days we only had about 10,000 members. Now with all the JCLs there are more than 100,000. I no longer have any chance of tickets for finals.
  13. Rambo for me. God we'll miss him in Munich.
  14. Hey come on. I know you're boyfriend is a scouser, but respecting Gerrard is a compromise too far.
  15. Hey, behave yourself, I thought you were in a relationship (albeit with a scouser)...the naked photos of Mata can only be viewed by the single ladies!
  16. It's now even more important that we win in Munich. Can't bear the thought of the y*ds celebrating our defeat. That must not happen!
  17. So Sp*rs finish 4th. Even more reason to win in Munich next Saturday.
  18. apparently Meireles is out for tomorrow, as is Mikel.
  19. Exactly that. There's a similar empathy between Celtic & Scum as there is between Chels & Rangers, hence the scum sing "Fields of Anfield Road" to the tune of Sceptic's "Fields of Athelry".
  20. our luck had to run out eventually... shame it couldn't have held out for 5 more games!
  21. Well done guys, that's an excellent package. I'm sorely tempted, but with a mere 35 loyalty points am not optimistic about my chances of getting tickets. Should I get lucky then I'm in for sure...
  22. yeah that's really thoughtful George. Could I have a couple please? Cheers
  23. Bayern may well be beatable BUT, and it's a big but, Bayern are playing at home in the final. That gives them a huge advantage.
