My thesaurus does not have enough words under 'big' to describe how big this game is.

The 7-0 win over Stoke provides a nice confidence boost but hopefully not an excessive one as the last thing we need is complacency to creep in. As great as the performance and score was against Stoke, playing away at Anfield will be an entirely different kettle of stolen fish. For a start they won't have a back four made up of four centre halves and they won't allow us to dominate the midfeld practically uncontested.

JT will return which will see Paulo drop to the bench and Ivan playing at right back. Ashley Cole will keep his place at left back and despite his three goals I expect Kalou to drop to the bench with either Joe Cole or Deco coming in (probably Deco).

The 7-0 victory celebration feeling has now passed, now onto the big one.

No Nancy-Drew is the biggest bonus of them all... play how we did against Man Utd and we'll have every chance, play how we did against Spuds and I'll start to engrave the trophy for the Mancs now.

Without meaning to sound too dramatic - our entire season hinges on our result here. Come on Chelsea.

I was pacing around the room when United got that last-minute winner against City. All this nervousness could have been averted...

Oh well, bring it on!

The match that decides the premierleague, probably the biggest game ive watched in the epl... Liverpools 3 day break after europa could work in our favor however as seen during the year anything can happen. Cmon Boys!!!

This is not only the biggest match of the season, it's the biggest match for several seasons. The old "Cup Final" cliche has never been more relevent for this one. If we don't win, 7-0 against Stoke counts for nothing, 2-1 at OT counts for nothing, all the records the whole season doesn't mean a thing. It's the last chance I'd suggest for this group many of whom have been together for five years to get a win before the squad is overhauled in the summer.... Sorry I got all Sky Sports promo there for a sec.

My only wish is that we'd never sent Essien off to the ANC. Who else has a pocket big enough to fit Gerrard in it? Good news of course that Torres won't be in and lets hope they get run to penalties on Wednesday evening by Athletico Madrid. Come on lads, make us proud.

The last time we played Liverpool in the league with so much riding on the result was about 7 years ago at the Bridge. We needed to win the match to ensure CL qualification, and went behind to a Sami Hyppia goal, only for Marcel (I think) and Gronks to seal the win for us.

The rest was, quite literally, 'istory.

Bring it.

Remember that game well. Only difference was that was at the Bridge. The one I want to emulate was the 3-1 in the CL a couple of years back. That was a special night.

Christ , here we go again , another f***ing week without proper sleep, food or any decent intelligent conversation from me at home

I know im going to be difficult to live with until Sunday and i know from Tuesday i'll become a right pain in the arse.

Not sure if i'll work Saturday night , i'll be too stressed and tense so it might be a good idea to turn the 'off switch' to active for a few days, failing that , its Carlsberg and buckets of the stuff.

You are correct. It was Desailly and Gronks that day. Gronks, the best cross he ever put in

CHELSEA FOOTBALL CLUB = ITS IS MY RELIGION

Don't bad mouth Australia :(...it's a great country :P

I love Chelsea as much as the next guy, but I still love Australian sport.

We've beaten ManU and Arsenal away but aside from that the away record this season has been spotty. Liverpuddle have lost only 3 at home this season.

I'm not sure that the statistics favour us, but I'd still rather be one point in front with a goal difference than a point behind.

Its a worry.

The positive is that we've won 5 out of 5 against 'the big 4' and have this chance to make it 6/6

We shouldn't forget that even if we beat "Steve's angels" we still have to beat Wigan after that. Let's not get ahead of ourselves we need two wins not one.

JT in for Paulo with Ivan switching to right back would be the only change for me.

I have been one of Kalou's biggest critics on here (in fact I think 99% of us have been bar the member who goes by the handle KalouTime!), but to drop him after he has just scored a hat-trick would be harsh to say the least. He appears to have discovered a bit of form just at the right time and I know Liverpool away is a big difference to Stoke at home but how can you drop a guy when he's just scored a hat-trick?

We need to win this one - we can't afford to go into the game thinking a draw may be enough. So we need to be as attack minded as possible with NO MIKEL and Joey and Sturridge on the bench as per yesterday.

It will be a wierd atmosphere at Anfield - early kick off and their supporters not really knowing what they want. Their last home match of the season and no home supporter goes to a game wanting to see their side lose, but with the knowledge that if they beat us, then their biggest rivals willl more than likely win the league for the 19th time.

What a massive game. I'm nervous now - don't know what I'll be like come Sunday.

very nervous about this match, hopefully their europa league match will be a violent, draining affair. All this talk of liverpool not playing hard because they dont want the mancs to get to number 19 before them will never amount to anything. They will be too proud to just bend over. I am glad that they will play hard as well because if they handed us the match manc fans would permanently put an asterix next to this season. We have been the best team in the league through the year and now is the time to prove it.

Ideally we will beat liverpool here and the mancs will draw with sunderland. Should they lose to sunderland it means that the players wont be on the pitch to celebrate.

I'd agree with the change at the back, but I have to say that I thought we looked very solid with Ivan and Alex yesterday. On form that may well be our best centre back pairing. However, what we gain with Ivan at right back must make switching him the right choice.

My big worry is that we play with our full backs so high up the pitch at the same time. Teams that are smart and have some pace can really exploit that - see Man City/Spurs. At times yesterday we were playing with Ballack as a sort of sweeper just in front of the centre halves whilst both fullbacks were more like wingers. When it works it is very effective, but you'd better not lose the ball too often otherwise there will be trouble.

If I were Benitez I would put someone on to Ballack or whoever plays the holding role, I would play with two hard working wide men, Kuyt and Maxi, with instructions to try and put Ivan and Ashley on the back foot as much as possible, and then hassle the hell out of Lampard and Malouda in midfield. He knows we need to win and so we have to take risks and they will get some chances.

We have to be patient. We don't need to play flowery football, we don't need to go hell for leather from the start and we certainly can't afford to go a goal down. We are a better side and it is very rare for us not to score so let's not do anything stupid. Just get control, play the game and the goals will come.

I think Drogba will be key as he can really unsettle them in defence and will give us the option of bypassing midfield if we need to.

Our away form hasn't been great, but we have done well against Arsenal and Man U so I hope we can do it again.

A win is essential as Utd will win their last two games, of that I'm certain.

Oh how the nerves are getting to us now :P oh how we rue those mid season games when a point or two would have a huge difference...I would have loved to have gone to Anfield with a four point cushion...but it is what it is...our destiny is in our own hands. Everyone knows we need a superb performance from all players to win at Liverpool, we have done it before we can do it again. Who knows Sunderland might give Utd a game....oh wouldn't it be fun if Utd drew and we lost...no wake up you fool, wake up...sorry bad dream....Liverpool 1 - Chelsea 3....

liverpool will play us less then 78 hours after their .E.L. semi final... they have to be tired....

im gona cheer on for a draw n hopefully it goes to penalties then the scousers miss all 3 n lose 3-0...

they must feel tired wen THE BLUES pley em.... we have to win no excuses.... im still not convinced we can play good if teams put pressure on full backs like tottenham did...

that is our weakness

liverpool will play us less then 78 hours after their .E.L. semi final... they have to be tired....

Spurs were supposed to be tired when they played us, but it was the boys in blue who looked tired. I don't think we can count on getting any sort of advantage even if Liverpool do have a midweek match and we don't.

Jt for Paulo would be the only change for me. WE have to go in well disciplined for this match , ball retention is everything a 1-0 will do, so need to go too expansive till the 2nd half if its required. For that reason Deco will stay firmly on the bench, as good as he is at finding the killer ball all too often he gives it away in crucial area and puts us on the back foot.
