unlike the bookies, i don't see us as favourites for this season's title. finishing third or fourth would be disappointing but not the end of the world.

i think we'll finish as runners up.

Why do people doubt us all the time? even you the supporters, last year when we lost against Man City everyone said how we would not win the league, and look what happened.

We will be even stronger this year I believe with Bossy, Essien getting fit and the addition of Benayoun and Ramires (hopefully) and perhaps even more additions?

1st place, no doubt.

It would be for Carlo.

I think we have every chance of retaining the title if we get the best out of the players we have, the possible signings will hopefully help if they come and should give the established players a bit less of an untouchable feeling which could get some good performances out of them.

A fit Essien is like a new signing and Benayoun is nothing if not reliable so that should cover the loss of Ballack and Joe, If Ramires comes in he should have more influence over a season than Deco so as long as we don't have any long term injuries apart from missing Riccys experience we should be able to give decent game time to some youngsters as well as having a squad capable of challenging on all fronts again.

I seriously think Man City could end the season well and I am hoping they start slowley as if they get it right they will be a threat, If I were doing a straight forecast on gut instinct I would have them as runners up...hopefully Mancini is not the man to be in charge of a team full of new player and big egos and will struggle but I think he could surprise people.

I think the Scousers will be better under Hodgson as half the team seemed to have a gripe with Benitez and a more settled bunch are going to perform better, glad Mascherano is gone as like him or not he is a very good player.

UTD and Arsenal will always be thereabouts but I don't see a lot of improvement in either, If RVP stays fit Arsenal will have a better season but I can only see us not ending ahead of them if we have gone backwards and UTD if their best eleven played for anyone but Ferguson would in my opinion struggle to get a european place.

I can't bring myself to guestimate Spurs chances but hope they end somewhere behind WBA and Blackpool.

2nd - not because of current form or lack of signings, but because I am naturally pessimistic and get super worked up over the team

The same usually happens when the UCL draw comes out, I always predict we won't make it out of groups that we end up waltzing through. :laugh2:

I think 1st. We played much more attacking football than when we first won with Jose and that was with injuries and bad press affecting our players all season. How many people thought that we would win in again in 2006? The boys played some awesome football and broke records last season and I dont see why it cant be repeated. Maybe as Chelsea fans were used to dissapointment but I think under Carlo we have reached a period of stability and continued success.

Think or hope????

definitely think. i always hope for us to win every game, and to win every competition we enter.

as i'm sure i've written elsewhere, i didn't fancy us for the title before the beginning of last season either...

I know we're just off the back of a double winning season, but I'm always happy just to stay in the premiership.

I also feel Carlo may be getting some serious pressure for CL glory, at the cost of the Prem. So, top 4

Then Roman better be breaking out the cheque book for a superstar or 2........not to beat the other teams players, but to beat the officiating.

Always a + when in April we're mathmatically safe from relegation....gonna be a tough run, just like years past all are gunning for us at the top- my only 2 cents is that IF WE CAN STAY HEALTHY...should be lifting the Prem Trophy again

C'mmmmmmmmmonnnn Chelseaaaaaaa

Listening to a lot of debate on the radio and reading numerous reports by experts in the papers I reckon we'll be in the Championship next year

on paper we are as good as anyone, not just in england but in the world. The only reason there are so many of us doubting is the age of our players.
