February 23, 20215 yr Seems like Bayern are making good use of one of our youths that got away. Jamal Musiala, youngest english scorer in CL knockouts.
February 24, 20215 yr https://www.sportbible.com/football/news-eden-hazard-in-top-three-footballers-on-earth-as-ronaldo-is-left-out-20210223 I love reading stories about how good Eden was. My favourite ever Chelsea player and makes me smile whenever I think of him but I'm really happy his experience at Madrid has been hell. If would've burned me if he evolved like Cr7. His best years were and Chelsea and I want it to remain that way.
March 5, 20215 yr So our man Jimmy Floyd appears to be doing a remarkable job at Burton Albion (again). Took over on New Year's Day with them rooted to the bottom of the table, with only two wins total, six points from safety, and four points behind 23rd-placed Swindon. He's taken them on a run of six wins in nine games (one of those being against second-placed Hull) - now they are 18th and two points clear of the relegation zone!

Worst thing he did was take the QPR job which seemed to derail his good start in management. The QPR job, especially then, was a bit of a poison chalice and you were on a hiding to nothing managing them. Be good if he can get his managerial career back on course again.

Yeah, in the space of a year he managed to get Burton Albion to the top finish in their history. I remember remarking on it at the time - a real shame that he didn't stick around to take them into the Championship. Completely agree about the QPR job. He seems to have an awful record everywhere else - must just have some sort of Burton mojo I suppose? Had a look and hilariously enough Luke 'can't string ten consecutive appearances together to save his life' Varney is his fitness coach.
March 14, 20215 yr Update on Jimmy Floyd's Burton Albion: they've now won their sixth game on the trot and are seven points clear of safety. If anyone wants to feel old, a now 33-year-old Michael Mancienne has been playing throughout this recent run.

A couple of nice insights from the living legend. Would be nice to have a bit more depth on why Jose thought he was more suited to a defensive midfield role rather than playing as a #10. Easy to forget that he had a bit of an underwhelming departure from the club.
March 30, 20215 yr This is the first time I’ve seen this goal despite being at the game. We forgot the clocks changed and I was very surprised to get a text alert we’d scored while heading down the district line

I could have settled for one super season curtailed by injury in the summer sadly it does not look like he will even get one decent season.
April 12, 20215 yr Our former youngster Gaël Kakuta seems to have finally hit his stride - he has been pulling up trees at Lens as their creative talisman, scoring 10 and assisting a further 5. He has improbably led Lens (a newly-promoted side) into the Europa League playoff spots. They are currently unbeaten in 11 league games.
April 12, 20215 yr Good to hear I recall his debut seemed to have bags of talent yet didn't gel with the team. He must be quite old now?
