Random Rumours

Going to keep posting it in the hope that some algorithmic Grok bo**ocks picks it up and creates a rumour that makes it happen, but personally i would like James Garner from Everton who I think would be an ideal deep lying player in the pivot with Caicedo but with the engine and passing range to cover the whole of midfield.

I would go along with this. It would also piss off united fans.

I'd be down with selling Enzo and bringing in Wharton.

Not a huge fan of Alex Scott personally.

Now then, do we know if Eghbali has personally handled transfer negotiations for deals now worth in excess of 100mill before?

Enzo, Caicedo and now Rogers. As far as we have been told it was not him who did the deal for Palestra, so why is he doing the deal for a 55mill, or so, defender from Palace?

I reckon he is there for Wharton as well, as long as we can shift Enzo.

Isn’t the three year restriction for players under 18?

Correct, typo on my part. Denner Evangelista was 17 when the transfer was announced so his contract would only be valid until he is 20.

I know (from Football Manager, lol!) that there was a way around it where clubs agreed a pre-contract at 17 to sign a longer professional contract at 18, but I don't think those are actually that enforceable.

Sarr is now being shopped around for a loan deal, and Emegha might be loaned/sold. Makes you wonder what the point of signing them was.

It's so the profit appears on Chelsea's books, not Strasbourg's. Essentially it helps move money between the two clubs.

Have to admit I was surprised when you made that post.

Interesting you talk about deals signed before the age of not being enforceable.

I tried to point out to a Leicester supporter who was talking about a young player of theirs called Page who had signed one of these 3 year when he was 17 but as he was under the age of 18 any such agreement would have to be signed off by his parent/ guardian .When he reaches the age of 18 any deal would have to be signed again to make it a cast iron contract but this time by the player as an adult and in theory under contract law that earlier could be challenged in the courts.

Caleb Yirenkyi looks like another signing that's being lined up for Strasbourg rather than Chelsea, if I'm honest. He's clearly a talented prospect, but at this point every young player we get linked with makes me think they'll spend a season or two at Strasbourg before we even consider bringing them into the first team.

If memory serves, your Leicester scenario is eerily similar to Chelsea/Kakuta back in 2009. CAS ruled on appeal that the junior pre-contract was not valid and our transfer ban was struck out.

Well I am sat here in Dorset several thousand miles away from you and that thought came to me after I made the post.

In the end I seem to remember we paid compensation for Gael and the French club although not happy had no choice but to take it on the chin.

Telegraph saying were favourites for this young lad from Leverkusen. Fee suggest he'd be in and around the 1st team

Can’t see the logic in this signing from the club or the player’s side. If we needed another LW, we could just have kept Derry. On the player’s side; will be brainless to move here to play back up to a £117m at 18yrs. He needs a club where he will be playing games regularly, not 10-15min here or there. Oh and then there is Gittens.

Roma have identified Jamie Gittens as a possible target. Thank you God.

Well there loan offer for Garnacho failed so they still have a space to fill.

Roma are always interseted in our players, but never want to pay any money.

Maybe a loan lets him play and restore value before we can move him along. Had high hopes for him, but between health and physicality issues, it's not been an auspicious start.

Gittens is sh*t, Derry has 0 professional minutes.

This guy was the best player in the Austrian league last year. He's the type of player who will go for 30-35m this year, and probably 80-90m in 2 years time. We should sign him now.

I don't know why every club in Europe isn't after him now.
