May 2, 201214 yr Dembele again impressed me yesterday against Pool. I'd replace Meireles with him in a heartbeat
May 2, 201214 yr Italy could indeed be a good place to shop, especially if we make the CL for next year. Juve and Milan will be in the CL, but the 3rd spot is currently wide open between Napoli, Inter, Udinese, Lazio, and maybe Roma. Let's say that Inter win out and make the CL, that would leave some big names missing out on the CL. All of Napoli's players we're pretty familiar with, but Udinese have Mauricio Isla, Palermo have Josep Illicic, Fiorentina have Jovetic, Roma have several young attacking midfielders like Pjanic and Lamela, etc. Not necessarily saying any of these guys are necessarily the solution to our problems or would work well in the PL, but there could be some good value over there on teams missing out on the CL. I agree with this, not seen loads of them, but impressed with some of the names mentioned when I've caught glimpses of them
May 2, 201214 yr Gotta feeling Drogba will go if we don't win Champs League and we will sign Higuain which will be a positive step. A young player hungry for games as he is fed up of being on the bench at Madrid. Would love to see Schweinsteiger and Van der Wiel join him
May 2, 201214 yr Dembele again impressed me yesterday against Pool. I'd replace Meireles with him in a heartbeat He is impressive, the only problem I have with him is he does seem to overplay when he has the ball, which is ok against lesser teams like Liveprool ( ) but would struggle in the tighter games I think. But I wouldnt have a problem with us taking a punt on him.
May 3, 201214 yr Not really a rumour but rather who I want us to sign: Graham Carr If he can find us some gems like Cisse then can then think about suitable replacements for the likes of Frank and DD

But I wouldnt have a problem with us taking a punt on him. I actually think his technical ability is a plus in tighter games. He's got more ability on the ball than any of our current midfield bar Mata and we often struggle to create anything because of that.
May 4, 201214 yr Apparently we're considering a bid for Andre Schurrle from Bayern Leverkusen. Don't know much about him. He has broken into the Germany squad though, which is impressive. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/9244686/Chelsea-chairman-Roman-Abramovich-weighs-up-15.5million-offer-for-Germany-forward-Andre-Schurrle.html
May 4, 201214 yr As I recall, Schurrle was quite lively in those CL games against us, though I cant remember him doing anything of note. From that article Sources close to the Russian billionaire have revealed that there are plans in place to create a “hungry, young team” Never before have I wanted such obvious bullsh*t to be true. But if we are really looking at more young talent from the Bundesliga its good move by the club, imo.
May 4, 201214 yr i really like Schurrle right sided though same as marin, so would there be someone else maybe sidney sam his team mate?
May 4, 201214 yr http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17945917 It is believed the German club value the ex-Reading player at around £10m. If true I think we should at least consider him, he's done very well so far and if we let people like Malouda, Essien, Merieles(?), etc... go he could be a good replacement to come in.

Totally agree, I think would be a good signing and has premiership experience which I think is key.
May 4, 201214 yr He has played nearly every game this year. Thats idiocy. And I doubt he would ever go back to the Russian league before his 30s. Anyway, if we are looking at a young Bundesliga forward, that Andres Shurrle lad from Leverkusen looked talented. Linked with him in Telegraph http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/9244686/Chelsea-chairman-Roman-Abramovich-weighs-up-15.5million-offer-for-Germany-forward-Andre-Schurrle.html
May 4, 201214 yr How about getting Joe Lewis in on a free been released from his club, good solid english keeper. Am sure he was even called up to the England squad a few years ago. Surely worth a go if there is no transfer fee? Hilario and Turnball I just dont think really cut and Cech could do with some good compitition to keep him on his toes.
May 4, 201214 yr My brother follows the Bundesliga avidly and last season when Schurrle was playing for Mainz, he was arguably my brother's favourite player, but he tells me this year he's really dropped off the pace playing for Leverkusen, so he could be a risk. May 5, 201214 yr Schurrle is definitely an interesting prospect, wonder if there is any truth to it. I read in some tabloid earlier that we were planning to a Barcelona full-back raid. This got me excited, as I thought they were talking about Martin Montoya, but instead it was some drivel about how we want Dani Alves. No thank you.

Hmmm Icelandic player you say, didn't we have a guy like that once? What was his name ;)

Alves is a bit of a dilemma for me, on one hand he's a prick and we don't want to attract even more hate, but on the other he's the best rightback in the world and would be fantastic on the side we've been struggling on

As somebody who lives in Peterborough and follows them a bit, I really hope this does NOT happen. He is very prone to howlers and the amount he's pulled in the last couple of seasons is ridiculous, he's cost 'boro more points than anybody.

Having watched him when he was at Reading, I'd agree. Brilliant player!
May 6, 201214 yr if you believe the press were monitoring luuk de jong, always rated him, 12.5 mil better than decent back up and still only 21 , http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/manchester-united-chelsea-liverpool-newcastle-820160 would love to see him here tbf
May 6, 201214 yr A Chelsea supporting facebook page from kosovo posted today this: "Mario Götze, Gjermani i dytë ne Chelsea" , This means: " Mario Götze, The second German player for Chelsea". Can anyone confirm this or is it just a normal rumor?
