He might have justified that fee too if he could stay healthy. I wouldn't mind him either, truth be told. If he's not playing every week, he might be about to hold up health wise. No denying his ability.

Out of curiousity what would people think of signing Steven Fletcher as a back up striker? He's a proven goalscorer in the Prem, he would be relatively cheap, and having watched him since he was a young laddie at Hibs, he's grown into a bloody good striker?

Saw earlier that Pablo Aimar is looking likely to leave Benfica this summer. I know he's in this 30's but he's still such a fantastic player, would be great to keep an eye on him if we fail to land our primary targets.

Can't miss out on quality players like him just because of age though. Age has had no affect on Aimar, he's still rapid and can play a full 90 min.

Even if it was as back up, his experience would be extremely valuable to the younger players.

Chelsea have added CSKA Moscow striker Seydou Doumbia to their list of targets. The Ivory Coast star, 24, is valued at around £26million.

Chelsea have an extensive list but fear competition from Manchester City.

Doumbia is an international team-mate of Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou - who are both leaving Stamford Bridge this summer.

If we bring in wingers like Hazard and Hulk there would be no reason why Torres and Lukaku couldn't succeed down the middle. On top of that if we bring in Falcao or any other striker would that not just scare away Lukaku? He'd be 4-6 years away from starting here then.
