Juventus paid around €50m for him but he had little impact. Injury didn't help but successive managers haven't fancied him. Poor for Forest last night but he wasn't the only one. If the Chelsea thing is legit - a loan till the end of the season - it's as midfield cover during the busy schedule rather than replacing anyone. Good player in his day. Whether he's still up to it is another matter.

I love London as a tourist. It has great museums, wonderful architecture and Chelsea. I've visited a gazillion times and never been pickpocketed, threatened, knifed, raped, murdered or eaten. For residents, it's probably the same as residents of all major cities, there are some areas that are not particularly pleasant, but most people just live their lives in unremarkable circumstances. Yet, press coverage of crime gives an unbalanced idea to non-residents. In my country it's the same: people outside Amsterdam swear they don't set foot in the place, as it's all junkies, dealers, prostitutes and vomiting British louts. Apart from the vomiting British louts, it's all hyperbole.

Are we really discussing London vs Manchester? Hahaha being an outsider to both, in terms of not having been born in either, central London is prettier than any part I've seen of Manchester. And, controversial opinion here, much nicer than Liverpool! If I had to choose an English northern city, Newcastle is nicer and with nicer people than other northern cities I've been to.

I've never been to Liverpool, but I've been in Newcastle for a day or so (a whole day? Yes). I found the Geordie accent inpenetrable and could barely understand the locals, but they seemed nice 😄

London is a truly amazing city……. If you have a lot of money.

Manchester is a great city too if you don’t mind the rain.

Everyone should experience some of the delights of Liverpool...Bootle is a particular favourite.
