surely sundays activities were not spur of the moment, so we must have someone lined up

if yes, the wait must be cos carlos replacement is managing a team still playing competitive football - maybe an international manager, or pepe g...............not as daft as it sounds

if CL still the goal, then has to be someone who has won it already.................that cuts down the options

unless that is not the strategy, and we are going for younger manager to build a longer-term team which will take longer than the instant win:lose scenario which cost carlo his job

most chelsea fans I know would support the latter option if we could see a coherent plan with the right manager - so van basten maybe an option

end next week, after the EC qualifiers and the CL final, and we should know

I dont think that chelsea had a manager lined up. Roman thought that he could count on Hiddink to leave Turkey, but right now it is looking less likely as he says he wants to honour his contract with the Turkish FA. We are more likely to appoint someone in early july, possibly Van Basten. Guardiola wont leave barca for chelsea. Lets hope this situation gets sorted out before pre-season!

I hope it will be sorted out way before that time. I don't want us to sign players without knowing who will be in charge, because it will be down to him to say how we're going to play and what players we might need. What if we sign a bunch of strikers and our new managers only plays 4-5-1? Manager first, then buy players. And if we wait for too long, the players will already be gone. I can't see Neymar or Aguero sitting around until just before the next season starts before they go to a new club.

I also think the new manager needs more time than just the pre season to get things going at the club.

It's been 4 days since Carlo left. GOD FORBID WHAT ARE THEY DOING. It's going to take time. The lads have got a few weeks off now (bar international duty) and they come back to training early July. Plently can happen in the next 5 weeks. Chill. Chill.

I personally feel 100% that a manager has already been lined up.

Roman wouldn't make such a foolish decision on carlo if he didn't

Just chill out and enjoy the crazy rumours

Right now I just feel that it would be great if the club came out and said "right, this is our manager and these are the players we've bought and sold this summer".

I know it's silly, but I hate to go on here and other places who report on transfers like a thousand times each day to read the latest rumour that I know is absolutely b*llocks but still gets me going.

Each morning I wake up I want to jump on here to see if we've finally got a new manager or signed a new player.

It's been only a few days since the season ended but if this keeps up for much longer I will be in a padded cell wearing a straitjacket. I don't want to spend my summer there.

Heh I kinda like the excitement of not knowing - it at least gives us something to talk about over the summer :-)

DON'T :panic button:

Roman had a new manager lined up after the United game...I can't believe he will interview anyone other than Gus and wait till after the Turkey game...if Turkey win he might have a problem....

Looks like the rumours about Harry taking over has really sent stirred up some fans. :D

Stirred up both Chelsea and Spuds fans! Supposedly the odds on 'Arry becoming next manager have dropped to almost evens. Scary thought as he is also quite good friends with the toad so it leaves open the unthinkable option of Avi returning in some capacity. Supposedly the source of this rumour was a tweet by Sol Campbell which has gone viral. I don't think it will happen though. I still back Mod's theory that the new manager was known a while ago. If that is the case it would rule out Arry as I doubt he would have been able to stay calmly in the Spuds job for the rest of the season. Most likely the announcement is only being held back until their current commitments are fulfilled. With that in mind I would guess either Hiddink or Guardiola.

Yes I saw that tweet from Sol where he wished him luck to achieve success at Chelsea. Shudders !! :JC_doubledown:

Just in case the rumours of 'Arry do have some truth, would you please all join me........

You can stick old twitchy up your arse...............

I`m angry they are taking their time over picking the new manager (if indeed they are), why bother taking time to make sure you get the right one this time when it would be much easier to just jump in 2 foooted and pick whoever is teh current flavour of the month. What are they doing taking more than a week for gods sake....

And I`m with Barn, sing that song loud.

Good lord, I hope we are not going for 'Arry! I dislike him as much as I dislike Robbie Keane and would have a really hard time cheering him on.

It would be ideal to get a new manager relatively soon so he gets a feel for the club as soon as possible and he can do his research on the club and players and it gives the players time to adjust and if it is Redknapp it gives us time to attempt to get round the idea

'arry may bring Robbie with him. Enough to give you nightmares Scott.

Methinks they are waiting on Pep...

I think Pep Guardiola is the least likely candidate(out of the ones that have been mentioned so far).

Oh dear God. To top it off, he'll give "that lot" Drogba in return!

Redknapps name just keeps getting more amd more attention , i'd be devestated if he became manager , not because he's tottenham , it's because i think he's an average manager , nothing more .
