the days where baggy footnall shirts were the on field fashion was my big eera when i also played football, but thats partly to do with the fact that these tight shirts they have nowadays just dont fit me/look very attractive

I have just been through this whole thread over the last 3 or 4 weeks.

Its not just the best thread on the site, its not just the best thread on any forum, its possibly the best thing on the internet full stop.

I started going in the late 80's and have seen several pics of games I was actually at, and even more great stories, pics and vids of such great crowd shots and atmospheres from years long before I started going.

Well done to all the contributors to this epic thread.

I just beat you to it. Sat in the old East stand only once, when I was six, for the 5-2 defeat by Leeds in Jan 1970. Went with my granddad, who was worried I was going to get crushed in the crowds leaviing the Shed end after the match.

In the seats there for my first ever game, Stoke 17/3/70

Jody Morris dressed like an estate agent. Paul Elliot looking sinister in Herr Flick trench coat.

The bloke behind him on the right looks like something out of Star Trek.

I played five a side for them in very early 70's......we used Chelsea swimming baths next to the town hall

I played in the annual competition in Fulham Baths in North End Road when they boarded over one of the pools. For the scouts and for a club me and a few friends formed specially for the competition called Vandyke.
