I was trying to remember the layout at the north stand end back in the old days. We're the terrace turnstiles for our fans next to the west stand turnstiles? Also coming down the slope after the game was it 'fair game' as we would say back then. I only stood in the north stand once, when the shed was shut for a pre season game against China! Butch Wilkins last game for Chelsea.

I remember that game  funny enough I found the programme for that game just the other day as I was clearing out some old stuff.

I can remember standing on the North Stand for a pre Season friendly against Arsenal I think Tony Woodcock just joined them and it was big news.

And the last game I stood there was against Sheff Wednesday  when Mick Thomas was playing for us

Hi Erskblue .... i am slightly biased as some of my stuff is in it but yes ,for a few quid it is a good read .It has some  quality pics of various bits of memorabilia the stuff from the 70's and 80's

It's funny Carshalton that 70s and 80s we had so much red in our away kits and no one minded. Even red in the 90s away and home kits. Then roll on to mid 2000s and no one wants it anymore.

Red is our traditional away colours mate, believe it or not but its the colour we've worn the most, i didnt believe it at first either!!

1965/66 Barry Davies first ever commentary on TV for ITV as Chelsea play AC Milan

wow two years before I was born!! Nice to see midweek highlights. Loved it growing up on a school night and watching sports night or midweek sports special.

Barry Davies is my favourite bbc tv football commentator.

Always thought he was much better than John Motson.

The late Peter Jones was a brilliant commentator on radio 2.

Some of my old stuff in there as well, all my old silk scarves. Decent book for nostalgics, which I'm guessing is most of us on this bit of the site.

Great reading that Carshalton, couple of results that season once Geoff hurst took over had gone better like 1-5 at Birmingham and Shrewsbury at home I think 4-2 we may have gone straight back up.

I remember that season for the pair of home 0-2 defeats to Fulham and QPR, one point from those games would have seen us promoted.
