On the 13th April 1906 we had 67.000 at The Bridge watching a 1-1 draw with Man Utd in the 2nd Division.

 

Our first season  !

 

Incidentally our first ever FA Cup opponents were 'The First Grenedier Guards'  who we played in the 1st FA Cup Qualifying Round on 7th Oct 1905 at The Bridge in front of 5,000 spectators and we won 6-1.

My dad was at that game. He was 12 at the time, and lived in the world's end, in one of the houses that wasn't directly hit in the blitz. He used to tell me how the kids were passed over people's heads to the front, and he sat on the touch line.
