July 10, 201610 yr Chelsea v Manchester United (1966 - Stamford Bridge). Is that the Red Army's attempt to take The Shed?
July 10, 201610 yr One of our old boys passed away today sadly. David Stride who was a regular in the team around 78-80. I remember him well as that is when I started going to games regularlt. I think I still have his autograph on a program somewhere. Sad news.

July 12, 201610 yr One of our old boys passed away today sadly. David Stride who was a regular in the team around 78-80. I remember him well as that is when I started going to games regularlt. I think I still have his autograph on a program somewhere. Sad news. Really sad. Only 58. Condolences to his family and friends. I remember watching his debut. We were a poor side back then, but we got to see loads of young players in the first team. Those were the days of Sitton, Nutton, Frost and Aylott, all of whom showed potential, but none of whom made a proper impact. I remember Lofty/ Hutch going by the name of Stride on here for a while. At least, I think it was him! And I assume he took the name from our former full-back.
July 12, 201610 yr Was wondering Carshalton what game was Tommy's goal picture against. Was guessing 78/79, with the diamonds on the socks.
July 13, 201610 yr 5.0 v Leeds Mickey T celebrating the first goal on that great day I imagine. Nothing like scoring early to calm any nerves. A screamer as I remember it and then he buried himself in the benches to celebrate. So happy to say I was at this game as keen 9 year old!
July 14, 201610 yr Ah, the prices. Even the programme is £3 now. the programme was 25p around that time!
July 15, 201610 yr New to this site but just wanted to say a big thank you all the contributors in this section. Always the first section i go to and some incredible old photos and brilliant discussions. Followed Chelsea since being a kid and was lucky enough to be mascot in 86(aged 8) against Tottenham and continued go to most matches until around 2003. Some of the best memories in my life have come from following this club (funnily enough when we were sh*t!) and i know things change but its a shame that my kids will never get to experience the real Chelsea that we all remember Edited July 15, 201610 yr by ChelseaDon
July 15, 201610 yr Ah, the prices. Even the programme is £3 now. Used to have this pic as my screensaver, I'm sure that the chap at the front of the photo is someone I used to work with, an old Battersea boy, but despite trying I've never found out.
