Don't think any young people look at this section and to be honest their not interested especially if you look at Lampard thread. It just makes me laugh and no offence mate that anyone reading this wouldn't know who Eddie Mac and George Best are 🤣. Most pictures don't need captions unless for example you posted a picture of say Cardiff away 1980 and then it starts a conversation about the game, if you went etc but that's just my opinion if you want to put captions that's entirely up to you Ersk.👍

bluehaze. That’s fair enough and you’ve made good points which I’ll take on board. I wasn’t offended in any way. I just genuinely wasn’t sure.

Cheers🍻

‘Episode 48 – My Favourite Year: Pat Nevin, Chelsea 1983/84.’

‘In the third edition of our occasional series My Favourite Year, former Scotland international Pat Nevin looks back at Chelsea’s 1983/84 season with Daniel Gray.
Nevin was a key part of the Blues team which won England’s Division Two playing a swashbuckling form of attacking football. Plus, the forward reflects angrily on the hooliganism and racism which sometimes marred that era, and reminisces about the music of the time.
Expect mazy runs, importing square sausage to London and a lonely night in Manchester’s Haçienda nightclub.’

Don’t know if anyone has listened to this interview on the magazine’s website.
Apologies if it’s been already posted.

I always remember him hitting the crossbar when it was 0-0 in the final. That really was a crap day.

Yes I was there for that a very disappointing day and then caught in the rain on the way home.

As soon as they scored you knew it was over, we could only win if we scored first against Utd back then.

1994 FA Cup semi-final. The thing I remember most from the game was the great reception Kerry received.

“There’s only one Kerry Dixon” The tunnel end all seemed to stay behind until Kerry made his way down the tunnel, after he had been over to the Luton fans, best send off I have ever heard for a Chelsea player, and he was plying against us!

All your boyhood dreams of seeing your side win the cup in the hot sunshine just like you had seen on TV in the 70’s/80’s were shattered in the pouring rain, lucky I was 25 or I would of cried, drove home to reality as our first son was two months old, mind you it made 1997 even better. We have four children and every time we had one born, we have a reached the following cup final!! I fancy another final, so asked the Mrs for an early night, her second word was OFF!!

I went with my best mate, who was normally so easy going. At the final whistle he disappeared so I left, I found him again on the way to the tube and asked him where he got to and he said, "I just had to hit somebody, so I found a Manc, smacked him and ran away!"

Chels are definitely a bad influence.

I really wasn't sure about posting these it's our cup game against Wigan in 1980. Just a couple of days after we thrashed Newcastle 4-0 typical Chelsea that's why us old boys are never confident about Chelsea because we had to endure these sort of nights. One of my mates who didn't support Chelsea said on the train home you're going to get it at school tomorrow and I did it was bloody awful. Bloody cold night as well Walker and Langley both wearing trainers.

Charlton play off another dark day Paul Miller's scuffed shot that took about three deflections before going in.

Got even worse a few weeks later v Boro, remember both those games,  going thinking yes great, going to be big crowd with a lot riding on them, so a real edge to them, better than a run of the mill leagues game, both games, walking out totally pissed off, that’s Chelsea for you

There are games I can remember from the 70's and early 80's some I went to some I didn't but I don't remember this game at all. I do remember about 10 of us in the pub for QPR away in the mid 90's it got called off and we went on the piss
